There isn't going to be a 'Die Off'. (I think most of us have figured that out by now...)
'Die Off' was an interesting debate but it's now over. We need to move forward. Future problems can be faced either in isolation (in our little shacks in the wilderness, I have no problem with that) or together - by pooling our resources.
Humans are funny creatures, aren't we? We can touch Heaven, Hell, the Stars, and the Earth, all at the same time. One moment we're without hope and everything is going to be shit, then suddenly we're back up and fighting to build a better world. (Once again!!!)
How many times to we have to throw our spear at the stars and shout 'I, HUMAN, I DON'T KNOW WHAT I AM OR WHAT YOU ARE, BUT I TELL YOU WHAT, I'M GOING TO KEEP THROWING THIS THING UNTIL IT HITS THE TARGET'?
Until that moment, we're not dead. We're going to fight for victory now. I don't know what the weapons are, or how we're going to do it. But you know what, I have this suspicion that we may just win once again (grin).
You see, genetically, we were primed for extinction about 10 minutes after we stepped out of the trees. Big, vulnerable head, poor eyesight, no fur, no claws.
Aren't we a wierd thing? Maybe we are gods, or space aliens, after all. Maybe we ARE really smarter then yeast???
