I prefer watching this hell unfold over a heaping plate or two of CHinese food....in my house which has been paid off for decades.

No, no. Don't get me wrong. I'm with you. "Jack" and "sociopath" option for me are inseparable. I'm incapable of checking any other option. It negates the value of my response.

I laughed at all the related videos on YouTube: Man vs lions,
tiger vs man on elephant, man vs lion, Lions vs man . Guess who wins, leopard vs man, cougar vs man, kangaroo vs man, Man vs Lion...dunno what that indicates.

What's so funny about melanoma? Isn't that an Elvis Costello song?

I always envision Jack looking like the Joker in the first Batman movie:

Nice video, Jack. Red in tooth and claw.

That's a camera the one lion makes off with. Going to shoot some snaps while on holiday I bet.

Another vid: Lion wakes and bakes.

Nature can be a harsh mistress, but she is more fair than the hand of man.

Schadenfreude is not sociopathological if one enjoys watching cheaters experience justice.

Schadenfreude is sociopathological if one enjoys watching the small fry being eaten.

The problem is that it is often difficult to distinguish between who was greedy and who was simply stupid.

In my work I encounter many newly divorced moms with small children who are seeking to start a new life. Most were stupid and got pregnant by a man they later discovered was a poor provider and abusive. A smaller percentage are simply trying to score a better meal ticket and more "partying". It's often difficult to tell which is which.

I can say with supreme confidence that government programs to "help and protect" *always* make things far, far worse for both groups. It's the same with home buyers, levee builders, and Wall Street gamblers. Government intervention always results in greater suffering in the long run. It's axiomatic.

The world would be a more humane place of people would stop believing the old lie that government force and coercion are good.

I'm beyond the popcorn stage... all this doom stuff is giving me a chubby. I'm like a pervert at a porn theater right now... no time for popcorn. I love seeing these ignorant cornie bastards getting tossed out into the street.

Btw, that lion video was kinda cool, but there wasn't enough blood in it. Did you ever see that one video where that fat politician guy (Budd Dwyer) blows his brains out of the back of his head at a press conference? It was awesome, the guy has blood flowing out his nose like water out of a faucet. Or what about those beheading videos?

You should experience these things in real life. It's less awesome.

This spring I shot a lame dog in the back of the head with a 12ga. shotgun. Blood gushed out of his mouth and nose. It was not awesome.

Last June one of my best friends shot himself in the mouth while sitting in a lawn chair in his back yard. He had become crippled, financially broke, and without options. I hosed off his lawn chair and picked bits of his skull out of the grass. It was not awesome.

I agree..

Try empting a 10 round clip of a colt .45 on a 300LB feral pig, than dragging it to another field.

It takes a firm resolve to do something like that, but with the overpopulation of wild pigs in SE Oklahoma-it's nessesary for the ecosystem. To me it's kind of like a switch that goes off in my head when something needs to be put down.

Baldwin - I'm a little surprised your taking satisfaction or even joy from watching , anticipating others misfortune from impending economic problems, what would Jeebus say?

I've been hunting before. I've shot animals before (mostly deer). It was awesome, indeed. Animals are stupid, anyways.

I've also known a few people who've committed suicide (including my cousin.) With the dire financial situation we're now in, I think there will be many, many more.

Does blood bother you or something?

Some folks eat them but the meat processer will not touch them because they carry so many parisites. Trappers catch them then pump them with antibiotics. The guy who leases our place has 6 traps and averages 20 or more a month. The pigs seem to love deer corn soaked in grape Koolaid. Then they end up at the JC Potter plant outside of Durant, Ok.

Think about that thew next time you have Jimmie Dean Sausage for breakfast.

On the subject of precrash doom, I think the general population is discovering the life we had is over. I know there are many ex-coworkers at Countrywide that didn't see the light are begining to feel the heat.

30% of you so far are severe Scahenfeudeners! I had to vote it's a shame but most are to blame for their troubles. I don't have much sympathy for people who haven't lost their job and still can't afford their house and are in debt etc.

I personally don't know of anyone in that situation and the housing market around here is still doing OK so people who have had to get out that bought even just last year are making profit or at least making out even. These troubles in August may make it harder to obtain a jumbo loan for the expensive homes - even with good credit so it could change.
