Just when I thought it was safe from the Uber Doomers you have to go and post this?
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Alfred Tennyson', 'W')e are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

I had the opportunity to attend a screening of this recently with a small group of people. Frankly I wasn't nearly as impressed with it as I was with the first film, End of Suburbia. It seemed to me to lack a cohesive message, and while I get that the intent was to encourage people to start considering positive steps in response to the coming societal changes, there really wasn't any in-depth discussion with the different people regarding exactly what steps they were taking or why they felt these were appropriate responses to P.O., etc.

While the film wasn't terrible, it didn't really hold any kind of emotional impact, didn't leave me with any sense of urgency about the need for change or make me feel particularly motivated to do so.

My wife also watched it, and she had similar impressions. Escape From Suburbia might be a good film for people who are already informed about P.O. and it's ramifications, and are perhaps at that point of "wtf do we do?" - which I suppose really is it's intended audience - but I definitely would not recommend it as an introductory film.

Yeah, I like Roccland too! :)

I was up in Calistoga CA a while back, horrible traffic, accidents very common where the main st. intersects with the road out of town, by the Wine Garage.

Or take Jerome, AZ. Such horrible traffic you need to basically park your car at the first opportunity and just walk. Last time I there I was with someone who was unfit and it damned near would have killed the guy to fully explore the place.

Let's get it through our heads, people, cars are evil. We'll keep them and boil down the neighbor's kids to keep running them, they're a worse addiction than meth, but they are evil.
