Albuquerque, Santa Fe, and Las Vegas, New Mexico all exist on a high desert plateaus that did not support more than a few thousand people before the introduction of fossil fuels.
Only someone totally ignorant of Peak Oil or Stupid would choose to move to Santa Fe today.
50 years from now only Las Vegas (the original one in New Mexico) will be around. Because it showed it could be around 200 years ago!
