Lots and lots of different threads coming togather to form what should be a nasty bit of rope,I've never been one to prematurely cry wolf but I think this is seriousely the beginning of end times, never have so many negative things from wildly divurgent sources come together at one time on this planet.plus my magic bunion started weeping purple puss, that always means something bad is gonna' happen

Ferret,

In the immortal words of the long since defunct BTO (perhaps before your time, if so, I apologize) - 'You ain't seen nothing yet'...

Seriously, get a grip! When the bodies start stacking up in the street, get back to me. I smell fear! Fear is the mind killer...

Stay tuned, more to come!

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear... And when it is gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear is gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

The dow started downwards today, but it is sadly rebounding.

I so wanted to see two straight days of big losses

I for one am happy that it has not totally tanked today.

But make no mistake the problems people are coming to terms with are systemic, and they are global, and they are not going away.
This has not just been a US credit bubble it has been global, and if you think the US housing market is set to fall you need to go look at Spain, Britain, and India.

There has always been a chicken and egg relationship between PO and world economics, we just might see the world economy falter stagger and sputter along but the wizard behind the curtain just might be able to keep the game going.

There is one thing that can't be avoided, PO. We might just see the world run into PO in a very naked and obvious way. I think the thing that would cause the most disturbance to the world economy would be for everyone to realize at the same time "hey KSA and OPEC have peaked" no war with Iran, no major supply disruption just economics hitting a brick wall of geology.

The fear that would generate would be palpable.

I would appreciate it if the problems of PO were not masked by economics.

I also believed for many years that fed and gubmint would be able to manipulate things to keep the pyramid going almost indefinately, when bush took office it became clear that the hourglass had been flipped and we were headed for an economic crash, too much borrowing too fast, too much loose credit thrown at anything with a pulse, too much wink, wink, nod, nod legislation between regulators,SEC and corporations, too aggressive a foreign policy leading to other nations maybe not feeling so bad about not funding our deficits ad infinitum. The die was cast with bush,P.O. will just be the concrete sarcophagus encasing the U.S.A. coffin.

Oh where for art thou, Plunge Protection Team?

Could it be that the reality of the situation is finally sinking in with some investors?

Probably not. This is just a 'correction' I suppose.

Let me check Fox News/CNN/MSNBC/CNBC for the latest talking points and I'm sure I feel better.

HAHAHA
