I go on as often as I can, but I talk so loudly I can't really be on when my family is asleep. Be that as it may, I've had quite a few good conversations the last few weeks. Get on this resource peakers, great to actually have real time conversations.

It would be nice to set up a schedule whereby some of the PO old timers can indoctrinate the newbies. Something with a little structure instead of log on and take your chances to see if anyone around... Is there anyone with enough freetime on their hands to make this happen? Perhaps we can poll the population here and see what day of the week is most conducive for them...

Team Speak Users Poll: What day of the week would you use it

Unread postby PraireRanger » Tue 29 Aug 2006, 01:12:33

For those of you that don't yet know, Peakoil.com has a real time audio chat option know as Team Speak. Here is a poll to see what day of the week is most conducive for gathering and discussing the most important topic in the history of our civilisation with your peers.

You can still do so, and listen to people talk. I did that alot before I had a mic.

Oh, you need a everyday of the week option. =) That would certainly be me.

You got the address right, but I don't know about that password. I don't remember what it is, but it appears to have six characters not seven.

I dunno, it's still not working.

Quick connect, the long way 'round, nothing. My connection keeps saying that teamspeak isn't running on that server.

Can you join using the form on this page?
The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Aaron', 'C')an you join using the form on this page?

Nope. "Error."

Just for fun, I tried pinging that IP address and got back nothing. All four packets timed out, 100% loss.

If it helps, I'm using a laptop with a wireless connection to a Cisco wireless broadband router, to a Netopia DSL modem, to a Yahoo SBC DSL connection. When TS worked before, I was using a standard eMachine desktop PC connected by a normal ethernet card to the Netopia modem.

Dunno why that makes Ping not work... and I don't have a standard desktop PC anymore to test.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Shannymara', 'N')eed to set up port forwarding?

I dunno. If I can't see the server, does it matter whether I have my ports forwarded?

Do any of you guys have a suggestion for me?

Issue resolved! I was running Kerio Sunbelt Personal Firewall, and that was the problem. Go figure. I shut off the firewall and wallah, I can log on to teamspeak.

If some of you would be so kind as to remember this bit of information, it may help someone in the future.

Excellent voluntary population reduction mechanism FSU-style too, by the way.

Here, Here!

I have hundreds of free movies OnDemand, a kitchen full of highly processed junk food, and a TV in my room.

I'm only willing to drag myself away from that and talk on TeamSpeak at 11:30PM if the people I'm talking to are sober and comprehensible.

If I want to talk to drunks, I can go to a bar.
