I dunno, maybe I ought to consider going back to the fiddle. I was making good progress, astounding progress according to my teacher. I guess I'm a bit scarred by my experience trying out busking on University Avenue, I sat down at the shoe shine stand and was concentrating on my fiddle, not on the audience. I can't help it that they didn't know Ravel's Bolero or that I was playing it for the first time myself (no need for sheet music, got it stored between my ears). If I'd been playing some little Gypsy-fiddly thing with a grand total of 4 notes and dancing around a bit I'd have done great. Small, easy to carry, no amp needed for singing tone, and frankly, for me, the easiest instrument to pick stuff out on ever, there's a lot to speak for it. I just feel strongly drawn to doing music at least for a hobby.
At least in this country, you look at buskers and these are generally our dropouts, they're not procreating lol.
