Now you know why they're so damn grumpy
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'A') new psychology study at Washington University was no laughing matter: It found that older adults may have a harder time getting jokes because of an age-related decline in certain memory and reasoning abilities.
The research suggested that because older adults may have greater difficulty with cognitive flexibility, abstract reasoning and short-term memory, they also have greater difficulty with tests of humor comprehension.
Ok, ok...We all know geezers ain't funny. That's why no one laughed at George Burns' "Oh, God" movies (btw, 'Oh, God' was also the most common utterance from people forced to go see the wretched things). But the question is, when is Peak Funny?
I mean, at what age is the sense of humor most developed? I bet it's late twenties, early thirties - same age as peak musical inventiveness on average.
What a drag it is getting old! With a little luck, none of us will have to bother with it.
