The Introduction Thread

Since there seems to be a lot of new people on the forums recently, I thought there should be a thread where y'all introduce yourselves. I mean, we generally like to know something about who we're talking to.

Introduce yourselves- that's an order!
American by birth, Muslim by choice, Southern by the grace of God!

I'm Woodchuck.

I'm 54 years old, and three years away from retirement. In three years, I will have completed 30 years with the US Dept of Defense. I am a Contracting Officer, and I buy medical materials for all branches of the US Armed Forces.

All my life, I have lived in the eastern USA. My expectations are to retire to rural New York State on my 110 acre tree farm. I am also an avid woodworker and antique enthusiast. I usually vote a split ticket, but it tends to be 80% GOP and 20% Democratic.

I received a BS in Industrial Arts Education in 1973, and a MS in General Administration in 1995. The sea change from a manufacturing economy to an information economy has been somewhat less stressful to me, because my technical background has been long established.

Ryan here, craft artist, with an entirely inadequate public education. 2 months in to peak oil/resource/money/population awareness. 8O

We'll be visiting the Ozarks next week, with the possibility of relocating from the Ivan ravaged gulf coast. I can't imagine trying to clean up after another major storm Post Peak.

Scott here, sympathetic to all young sufferers of the cultural meltdown. I paint pictures and long for the olden times when it meant something.

Apathy here. Been here and there since forever. I have a very large family. I am prone to being excited, well, close to it I'd say because for some reason I never really do. Life is a bore for me. Maybe peak oil will spice things up a bit? :) Nah, that's just wishful thinking. I think I'm due for another nap.

My twin brother Sloth says hi, I think. He just waves. Sometimes its hard to tell because he never really moves much.

I was sent here by my grandpa Wisdom, he wants every one to know that I am here, for some reason - whatever... :( Anyways, I guess grandpa wanted me to make an appearance because a lot of people here see something big happening but aren't doing much about it, neither for themselves or others. Grandpa says Sloth should get around to posting on the site too, but Sloth isn't done his chores yet. Anytime now he'll post.

Bah, who am I kidding. He'll never post so its all up to me. Oh well... He does say hi though, sometimes. *yawn*... same story as always.

I tend to ramble on alot, but I try to keep my posts short and sweet and to the point when I have one. Well, I guess I seldom do have a point... ever. Does it really matter anyways? I think grandpa is out ot lunch 'cause no one really cares about my posts or even reads them.

I might be wrong, I might be right; either way is fine for me.

*yawn*
