You can calculate your carbon footprint at the link below. I think it's supposed to be no
more than 4 tonnes of CO2 per person. Whan at link click the flashing
green arrow and note that the flights question is 1 flight per each
way so a hol to Spain is 2 flights not 1 unless you got back some
other way!

I answered honestly (why do anything else) and took 2004 as the
year, seeing it was the last one! What I wasn't aware of was the
impact of staying in a hotel, be it in Oz or locally

anyway mine was a total of 18.14 tonnes of which

8.98 was home emissions ( and all our bulbs are energy ones, based on
an average Å

Well, I try to do as little work as possible.

In fact I am living proof of the Law of Conservastion of Energy :-D

So, in my own way I am doing my bit for the environment.

Interesting site

I get about 17 tonnes a year. I don't use a lot of energy around the house. (about 6 tonnes). My airtravel number is pretty high at about 10 tonnes.

However this is compensated by the fact that I don't have a car. It is amazing how much more effective public transport (and especially the train is) as compared to the car.

OK Paddy, you're excused. I know Irish trains and I know they're not an option. They are the only thing which make bus Eireann look good :)

i produce 7.02 tonnes of CO2 per year. 3.28 tonnes from the house and 3.74 from my car.

i dont use trains, trams, buses, planes. i dont go on holidays abroad much - two very young children, no money and massive debts.

To be honest, i'm not actually the travelling type anyway. i've been to Paris, Florida and northern France and ive been all over the UK.

I actually like nothing better than being around the house - watching TV, playing games on my PC, being with my family (2 kids and wife). I live in a nice part of Scotland where, in 5 minutes, you are practically in unspoilt countryside with no one around for miles - so we do lots of healthy walking in summer etc.

The only bad thing about my current life is the debts i have from university... now there was a complete waste of time. Even though i am now training to be a lawyer (8 months to go), the pay is terrible and even when qualified, i'll probably earn less than your average electrician or plumber. It will also take me until the end of 2010 to pay my debts off, so hopefully peak oil wont turn up for a good while after that.
