The reverse is true. If and when Iran nukes the U.S., we will be in WW III.

I don't know about a world war, but very possibly a "Hundred years war" or a "30 years war". The latter coincides with religious difference and the fact that 30 years fits in more with depletion.

The middle east crap going on right now may very well be the precursor to a world war, or it may simply be the beginning of a protracted regional war. Either way, the war, be it global or regional, will consume our resources faster, leaving naught but misery and chaos in its wake.

The human race isn't going to go down without trying out it's big bat.
When it comes down to it, the people will always shout, "Free Barabbas." They love Barabbas. He's one of them. He has the same dreams. He does what they wish they could do. That other guy is more removed, more inscrutable. He makes them think. "Crucify him."

The global Resource Wars began when BushCo unleashed "shock and awe" on Iraq. They will intensify and continue for a long while to come.

Yes, it's coming.

No, it won't be like the previous wars. There won't be vast armadas of ships or airplanes - nor will there be large armies.

I think we'll see many nations, each fighting different wars against diverse enemies, all at the same time. So in WWI and WWII there were distinct sides - that won't be the case in WWIII (IMO).

And, too, there will be terrorism. Lots of that.

The problem is, you can't fight that very effectively with nukes. Whom do you target? Some dusty village with a communal well and a couple goats? Or a city in some nation that has no distinct connection to the dusty village?

Not a fun time, I suspect....

That would put us at about 2017. If this century tracks like the last, we are all in for some interesting times. 1917 was not a good year for Europe.

Indeed.

Uncanny, though, isn't it.

There truly is nothing new under the sun. :(

We've been in the equivalent of the Cuban Missle Crisis for months now. One Iranian captain with an itchy trigger finger and it's all over. Or just a radar blip. I agree that the Neocons want to see some mushroom clouds, and make it like they were justified in retaliating. This will also fit the bill for that Catastrophic Emergency. Insane stuff.

The 9/11 attacks on the U.S. started "The War on Terrorism." This has effectively become something like the new "Cold War," with US forces involved in wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and counter-insurgency and anti-terrorism going on from Somalia to the Philippines.

This low-level war is likely to continue for decades, just as the cold war did.

This website shows info on the stormberger prophecies.

http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread178309/pg1

The stuff he says in there is pretty scary. He's been accurate about World War I, II, the events that followed WWI,II, and so I'm suspecting that he will be right about the Third World War.

Unfortunately from what he describes, there will be a lot of mushroom clouds going off, and that some nations will become cemetaries.

On the other hand, he says that people will survive.

" Iron rods will be built and iron monsters will bark though the wilderness. Cars without horses and shaft will come, and man will fly through the air like birds "...."The catholic faith will almost completely disappear, the religiousness will be quite badly respected, they will not earn any respect due to their way of living, there won't be many good Christians among the people, the Commandments of God are no longer respected by the aristocracy as well as by the smallest worker, one will not think the greatest unfairness to be a sin. When the faith disappears also the love of the next one will completely lose itself, one will not estimate the justice, often the poor one will not be given right and he will be less respected than a dog. After this a mischief will arise that has to be regretted, there will be no order among the people"

"When in the outskirts of the forest the iron road will be finished, and there the iron horse will be seen, a war will begin, to last twice two years ...It would be fought with iron fortresses that move without horses". Two or three decades after the first war it will come one a Second War still larger. Almost all the nations of the world will be involved. Millions of men will die, without being soldiers. The fire will fall from the sky and many great cities will be destroyed. And after the end of the Second Great War, a third universal conflagration will come, so that it will determine everything. There will be weapons totally new. In one day, more men will die than in all the previous wars. The battles will be accomplished with artificial weapons. Gigantic catastrophes will happen. With the open eyes, the nations of the planet will go through these catastrophes. They won't know what is happening, and those that know and tell, will be silenced. Everything will be different from before, and in many places the Earth will be a great cemetery. The third war will be the end of many nations". "You, my children, won't experience the largest mischief, you, my grandchildren, won't also experience it, but the third stock, that will easily experience it."

"Over night it will take place - in a pub in Zwiesel many people will be together, and outside the soldiers will ride over the bridge." ........ "The people will run out of the forest. Those, who hide themselves at the "Fuchsenriegel" or at the "Falkenstein", remain spared. Who survives must have an iron heading. The people become ill, and nobody can help them... however it will continue, and what follows then, is the end of the world. Sky and earth burn, because it is the time, when everything comes to an end. And this time will be, when the wild hunt with fire and sulphur roars over the country. But it is still long time, till it will happen, then no humans will know anymore, where "Zwiesel" and where "Rabenstein" (German towns) have been. Of all frights the this will be the last. When the people fall off the bank like the flies off the wall, the last time begins. It will be horrible." ........"But when however someone at the whole Danube stream finds still another cow, then she is worth it to be attached with a silver bell by the owner." ...."After these events it will be a miracle, if one still sees two or three rulers going together, after these events the clarity will be anew, and those who survived, will face a good time for hope)

Note: These prophecies came from a goat herder like 200 years ago.

Heh, more like the event of 9/11 was designed, implemented and used by various elements within the US government to usher in a new era for the United States and her citizens! In a nutshell, we have a group of greedy fundamentalist christians with delusions of grandeur and a belief they will see the 'end times' in their life. They are getting old. Add to the fact they have authorized themselves to preemptively use nuclear weapons you can bet things will get crazy before the Bush puppet masters leave the theatre!

Why would Iran nuke the US? That's witless. Massively inferior powers NEVER attack huge countries. Doesn't happen.

I guess from that statement you never heard of a little fracas called Pearl Harbor, December 7, 1941?

Inferior powers sometimes miscalculate the risks of attacking larger powers, projecting onto them the lack of will to fight and assuming that will not change.

Not to mention hundreds of attacks by groups who felt they had nothing left to loose, for instance north american tribal groups often fought back against the USA/Settlers/Army despite the fact that they were excessively outnumbered.

As far as that goes Hamas routinely attacks Isreal and the IRA was routinely attacking the UK ten years ago.

Iran is a theocracy. Their decision to nuke the United States would be driven by the misconception that such a decision is the will of God. In as much as religion is based on faith it is by its very nature irrational. The relative strength of the combatants would not weigh into the decision making process. Any reference to the United State’s most certain retaliation would be nullified by the assertion that if God is with us no one can stand against us.
