Went to see Greg Pahl (the author of The Citizen-Powered Energy Handbook: Community Solutions to a Global Crisis) at a local "New Age" bookstore last night.
It was kinda sad. There may have been all of 15 or 20 people there.
That place is clotted with wall to wall humans if someone is there to blather on about The Secret ("how to get rich by pretending you already are"), but someone with a less perky message gets little more than nada. I felt really sorry for the guy. I hope his other speaking engagements were better attended, but for me it was yet another indication of how woefully and willfully ignorant people are of what's coming.
The local Peak Oil Meetup group seems to have all of about 5 people. I've pretty much given up on networking about the subject with anyone around here. Kind of amazing in a city this large...


Take that opportunity to pass out flyers about Peak Oil to a captive audience.
