If you owned all your own property, and you came into a modest windfall of say 50,000 dollars all legally. How would you prepare for the Peak Oil Times ahead?

Oil futures market. Still a bargain...

Either that, or a single night of hookers, booze & gambling in Vegas.

I'm thinkin Vegas... yeah... definitely Vegas.

Or maybe I'll have my frozen semen launched into space... ya know... ensuring my domination of the galaxy for ever & ever.
The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

I'd donate it to the govt and let them distribute it to people who sit on their asses all day. Then I'd overdose on heroin.

I'ld buy a gun and a shovel and then I'ld join Aaron in Vegas where we could compete to see how many lines of coke we could snort off hookers asses in a 2 hour period. Then I'ld buy the last few bottles of JD left on the planet and drink them while moshing to "The House of Pain".

I'd build a yurt. Maybe a second one to house the Mexicans I'd hire to help me prepare.

I'd build a straw bale house, but instead of straw bales I'd use bricks of money.

Give it to me. Then you won't have to hear my whining about myself spiraling into a financial Black Hole that will only end with near-homelessness any more.

As you have noticed, most of the replies are jokes. Some are downright funny, but also if followed could land you in a heap of trouble. My advise would be to give it to the IRS, they can always use it to send their goons around to harass the average Joe while the Gov't wastes millions on almost everything they do. Why not buy a plot of land on the moon? Or give it to some charity like Mansanto so they can kill everyone on this planet faster? Anyway whatever you decide to do, better do it fast or the $50.000 will only buy you a loaf of bread.
