The Aloe Vera Miracle

Postby mmasters » Sat 16 Jun 2007, 21:15:32

Believe it or not Aloe Vera can be ingested and the effects are nothing beyond amazing. I recently purchased the dehydrated aloe product as referenced in the article below and have to admit it does what it says. My entire body and mind feel replenished, the girls are jealous of my great looking skin and after a long work week I'm not fatigued!

Here's the article that convinced me to give it a shot:
http://www.newstarget.com/021858.html

And here's an excert:
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'W')hen I say aloe vera is the most impressive medicinal herb invented by nature, I don't make that statement lightly. Of all the herbs I've ever studied -- and I've written thousands of articles on nutrition and disease prevention -- aloe vera is the most impressive herb of them all. (Garlic would be a close second.) There is nothing on this planet that offers the amazing variety of healing benefits granted by aloe vera. In a single plant, aloe vera offers potent, natural medicine that:

• Halts the growth of cancer tumors.
• Lowers high cholesterol.
• Repairs "sludge blood" and reverses "sticky blood".
• Boosts the oxygenation of your blood.
• Eases inflammation and soothes arthritis pain.
• Protects the body from oxidative stress.
• Prevents kidney stones and protects the body from oxalates in coffee and tea.
• Alkalizes the body, helping to balance overly acidic dietary habits.
• Cures ulcers, IBS, Crohn's disease and other digestive disorders.
• Reduces high blood pressure natural, by treating the cause, not just the symptoms.
• Nourishes the body with minerals, vitamins, enzymes and glyconutrients.
• Accelerates healing from physical burns and radiation burns.
• Replaces dozens of first aid products, makes bandages and antibacterial sprays obsolete.
• Halts colon cancer, heals the intestines and lubricates the digestive tract.
• Ends constipation.
• Stabilizes blood sugar and reduces triglycerides in diabetics.
• Prevents and treats candida infections.
• Protects the kidneys from disease.
• Functions as nature's own "sports drink" for electrolyte balance, making common sports drinks obsolete.
• Boosts cardiovascular performance and physical endurance.
• Speeds recovery from injury or physical exertion.
• Hydrates the skin, accelerates skin repair.

Truly, there is nothing else that compares to the medicinal potential of aloe vera. And yet most people only know about the topical applications of aloe vera gel. They think it's only good for sunburns. In reality, aloe vera is useful for both external and internal use. In this article, I'll discuss both.

I highly recommend it!

I've noticed those gallon jugs of aloe Vera in the supermarket. Never tried it. Got me curious now.

Just FYI, it may not work the same. As referenced in the article the Aloe in stores like GNC has lost much of its benefit because of processing techniques.

The stuff I ordered from here is unprocessed in fresh dehydrated form and combined with dehydrated blueberries/rasberries:

http://www.goodcausewellness.com/servle ... RINK+MIXES

If you get it just sprinkle a half teaspoon of the powder into a glass of water and it tastes like berry flavored water (the aloe is tasteless). It's pretty cool and convienent. :)

Oh Jesus Christ it's gooey shit out of a plant! Shit's a weed in large parts of the world, it certainly is where I grew up and am likely going back to.

Next thing they'll be declaring this ..... wetness.... that the local trees drop around here to be medicinal. I don't know what it is, it's seriously weirding me out! The trees are like, ash trees or something, and it's like they exude this wet glisteny shit right out of the leaves, like sweat it out, a sweating tree.... and this drops on the ground below the tree, I've seen dropped leaves that looked like sparkeley jewels because they're covered with .... tree sweat?

Don't knock it till ya try it. I was skeptical at first but kept an open mind and was quite surprised at the results.

I have an Aloe plant I keep around the house for medicinal purposes.

(mostly bug bites, sun burns, skin injury, etc.)

Never tried ingesting it though. I find the goop has a slightly odiferous quality, but I think I could stomach it. All those curative claims seem a little optimistic too me, but it probably wouldn't poison me, or do any harm. Maybe I will try some on a salad, or something.

EDIT: Thanks for the head's up about this unique plant! I have been reading quite a bit about it from other sources, it apparently is a wonderful laxative, and heartburn medicine.

Also good for the gums. If you can stand the taste. It's very bitter, the juices of the plant I mean. I keep the plants around for skin problems that occasionally crop up. Alexander The Great was said to have prized it and fought battles to obtain a steady supply of it it since it sometimes meant life or death to injured soldiers. Pretty amazing plant. I posted a thread on this subject a few years ago.

I've had eczema on my thumbs and fingertips for years, off and on. Sometimes it would get really bad.

Two years ago my wife got a huge container of some generic hand lotion that had Aloe Vera in it. I've used it often, and finally we're about to run out of it.

About a month ago, it dawned on me that I haven't had so much as one eczema outbreak since I started using that Aloe Vera hand lotion. I doubt very much that it's a coincidence.

Look, why don't you guys just jump in the bay?

I mean it, jump in San Francisco Bay, paddle around a while, soak, have a good ol' time. Your skin will glow! I took a windsurfing class and I passed the bugger too, I learned that I hate windsurfing, and that wow, that bay water is GOOD for the skin!

Being the water-storing pulp of a living system, yeah the insides of an aloe plant have got to be pretty good, but I always thought it was overhyped since I was in my early teens and we had a plant in our yard that must have weighed more than I did. It's handy to have around, but I've had skin problems cured by just spending time in the ocean.

Not everyone has the ocean handy though, and this stuff will grow most anywhere so, why not, use it.

It's no coincidence. It's been known for thousands of years what it can do for the human organism. I keep a few of them growing on my porch because I've learned from experience. Humanity used to have a broad understanding of what plants can do what. Sadly that's mostly lost to us now in this era of Big Pharma.

Well, eating anything nice and green is good for you..... I can't say I've tried this large weed, eating it, but I guess I could try it sometime.

I did try a bit of the wild (feral?) mustard that's growing all over, got to a swapmeet and our area was graced with these pretty mustard plants, most of which seemed like they'll survive our having invaded OK too. I tried a few of the tips of one, not bad, not mustardy at all, just a nice green.

I'm going to buy some of this for my wife. Her digestive track isn't the best, and she has a history of ulcers. Anything that helps, heck the placebo effect alone could be worth the 19 bucks a month.

If you think about how it sooths skin when used externally it really has the same effect all over internally. It's quite noticable and refreshing. :)

That might be something to keep in mind next time my stomach is really gripey. So far, the best thing I've come up with is to either have some tempura udon or to have the fried zucchinis and plenty of ranch, either one is a bit costy though. An aloe plant would look nice on the porch here!

careful, it can cause severe diarrhea when consumed internally. It's a tricky plant, as all of them are. The great cannabis is a case in point.

Yeah, it sounds like you have to really moderate how much you consume at once. The amount they have in that mix you linked mmasters was very minute, but that was all you where supposed to have in a day. And it sounded like they where saying don't take more. Anything has an amount you should not go beyond in consuming or else the negatives start to outweigh the positives. I like the idea that it doesn't take much to help with this plant, that means one plant will last longer.

We have an aloe plant and we always nip the top of a leaf and rub the sap on our skin if we get a burn. It works much better than conventional medecine.
