$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('uNkNowN ElEmEnt', '
')the only equlizing factor here is among the sociopaths. male or female you wouldn't guess it. in a close range suprise attack, a gun would probably get you killed, most everything other than hand to hand combat experience would. it takes 25 feet of distance between you and the attacker for your brain to be able to process the threat before they can get to you and for you to react.
You have valuable knowledge and experience to offer, and I do not wish to be unduly critical, but I had to read this many times to try to understand you. The 25 feet part was clear enough. But the rest left me, anyways, confused. I think I have got it down to this: If the crazies get close to you, they can kill you with just about anything. Exception: if they try to kill you with their hands and you are trained for that. Is this right?

I know of the 21 foot (7yard) rule for law enforcement. If an attacker armed with a knife is standing 21 feet away from an officer, he/she can close the distance and strike the officer with the knife before the officer can draw from the holster and fire. The 21 foot rule was tested using "average" people as aggressors and "average" officers.

This does not mean that the attacker can kill you with the knife. If you are the officer/victim, the way to defeat the 21 foot is to move at a 90 degree angle to the aggressor’s path. This causes the aggressor to perceive, decide and adjust his direction.

The whole process is called OODA. Observe, orient, decide & act. OODA can be used on a personal level & tactical level.

Of course, even if you are cut or stabbed, you may still have a lot of fight left!

imho this is a straw man issue. i have meet people that are exact oposite of these sterotypes. i aplogize about being gross but these are the only things i can see that one can do the other can't. women can't ejaculate sperm and men can't have multiple orgasims.(though i wouldn't mind if that latter one was fasle :P :P )
