Who would you contact to ensure that you got credit for the idea? I have a very simple idea which I know will work, and would save American civilization, but I want credit for my idea. If I'm going to be a hero, I want people to know I'm a hero.

I don't think I'll make any money off of the idea, even though it would allow modern industrial life to continue (and better than before I might add) in the United States.

So who would I contact to get credit for this, or how would I contact people?


I'm thinking I could mail the idea to myself, with multiple copies, then once I mailed the idea to myself I could prove later that I actually came up with the idea, if it was ever disputed. I could send an e-mail to thousands of people who work in the field, and to the media.

What do you think?

So we have this thread, and also your "Would saving civilization make you hot" thread... my my, Kylon, you must really be on to something here. Something absolutely everybody else overlooked. I wouldn't be surprised, actually... I've seen your posts, you're obviously a very intelligent person with some big ideas. Kinda like Emmit Brown. Could this one be your time-traveling Delorean? I'm curious as to why you think you've "solved" the peak oil problem. Not how, just why.

BTW, that probably came off as sarcastic, which is hard to do over the internets. I assure you, it wasn't; I'm genuinely interested.
