Believe it or not, I got my DL just today and bought my first batch of gasoline. 6.2 gallons. I managed to live in USA for over 3 years ( and almost a year in rural USA, and many more years elsewhere) without knowing how to drive. I managed to have a learners permit for 1 year and 6 weeks! Yay! Noone of my ancestors has ever drove anything, and noone but my Mom has ever flown a plane (yet she had never flown over 400 miles, and last time was probably in 1986). But I promise I will make it up for all of them! Happy peakoil everybody!

Behind the wheel common sense is most of what it takes to stay alive. Things like Buckle Up, Don't Follow Too Close, Slow Down In The Rain and Snow and At Night....

Well you can figure most of it out I presume. Happy Motoring!

Time's running out; get out there and truly enjoy driving while you still have the chance. It really is a great feeling, being able to push a 3,000 pound machine to both its limits and your limits. Learn how to left-foot brake, heel-and-toe downshift, and how to throttle oversteer while perfectly apexing a hairpin curve. I recommend Deal's Gap, N.C. for starters.

Congratulations!

You need to rent a Volvo XC90 or a Mustang from the Hertz place at LAX http://hertz.com for a weekend and run it up and down the Pacific Coast highway between Ventura and Carmel.
