Getting the message across

Unread postby TheDude » Sun 20 May 2007, 22:34:01

Ever read a book called Spychips: How Major Corporations and Government Plan to Track Your Every Move with RFID?

Title pretty much says it all. Creepy shit. Now, last year they came out with a new title:

The Spychips Threat: Why Christians Should Resist RFID and Electronic Surveillance.

Haven't read the new book, the first one did the job for me and I don't believe in the Mark of the Beast, Seven trumpets, etc. But I wonder if they're totally sincere in their intentions - I don't think it matters, either! For sure it carries more impact on a devout audience, and you can get your message across far more effectively with an in-place grassroots movement.

I was mulling over whether the message of Powerdown could be conveyed in similar fashion. Dunno if Paul or John had anything to say about Green energy or growing your own vegetables. Who was that "tread lightly upon the Earth" guy?

Anyway. Churches. Gotta beat Heinberg's students wandering around NorthCal towns babbling to slackjawed dupes who wonder why Rush hasn't said anything about it.

Thoughts? Criticisms? Scathing retorts? Don't want to upset your apple cart?
Cogito, ergo non satis bibivi
And let me tell you something: I dig your work.

Between cellphones and credit cards, I'd say we are all leaving behind a trail of sequentially-numbered dots that a kid could connect with a pencil.

As an aside, Christians are born branded, same as the rest of us.

We've all got DNA, right?

The evil was always right here, within us. Wooo-OOO-ooo! Plunge one into angst today!

Ya got that right: The Carbon atom, the basis of our lifestyles and of life itself has 6 protons, 6 neutrons, and 6 electrons. Beastly!

but....I want to be the borg. The borg care only for perfection. Big government cares only for money so they are more like the ferengi.
We are the Borg. Resistance is futile. Your culture will adapt to service ours. We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own.

I'm with sciencegirl.

Did you know 'ferenghi' is Persian (Iranian and Afghanistan-speak for 'foreigner'? Better than 'alien', in my opinion.
