I think we are getting close to a peak but not really there yet, see for instance the latest ASPO newsletter.

I have a feeling that it hit peak oil in 2005. No evidence, it is just my gut instinct.

as for the rest
don't know
the future is not set but it wouldn't surprise me if we hit peak this year

As far as the EIA data goes we peaked in May 2005 and have been on a gentle slope down ever since.
