sort of as an aside doesn't anyone else think that the best way to deal with this situation is to take out the mayor and his top men?

I can't imagine the entire town is in the lets go kill our neighbours for what they have kind of spirit.

Killing those insighting the masses to attack you could make the people decide there are better ways to go.

Of course you should also prepare to wipe out the entire town if need be. Snipers aren't always 100%

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('PrairieMule', 'W')e had a powerful storm(80-100mph winds) blow through Dallas last night and cut the power. I watched up to the point of the ultimatum given by the New Bern mayor. What happened after that?

I did get to break out the glowsticks and grundig handcrank radio .

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('some_guy282', 'I')'m expecting tank action too. The problem for Jericho is that they really need to think long term. Having an all out war with the next town over isn't a desirable situation. Who wants to have a permanent enemy in their backyard?

I think the smart thing for them to do is have a show of force with the tank, either defending an attack from the other town, or sending it there to destroy their road block and a non essential building or too. After that all they have to do is get on the radio and say "How about you go back to making those wind mills for us and accept our previous offer of 10% of our food. Or, we could just take this tank and destroy your factor along with a good bit of your town?"

If that doesn't work, hawkins could nuke Newburg and Jericho would never here another peep from other there.

It's good to see some action .... because the drama is written by idiots, and the acting is shithouse, so anything which can distract us from that bs is good.

The whole "I'm upset because I'm giving guns to 16yos" scene was hilarious. Are we supposed to expect Jake, who has killed many people and I assume wants his town to stay alive, is going to cry over arming his citizens? Like wtf. And the scene where they say "nooooo" to killing the injured soldier, and the daughter looks like she is about to cry over it. Yeah, you just murdered ~20 people Hollywood style (where everyone dies from a bullet the moment it hits them), another *1* isn't going to SAVE you from "hell" you dumb fucks.

The people who write this show are killing it. The budget must also be small because they continually let ACTION scenes just go "told", like the first attack on the mortars. You don't even see it, you just hear about it. If it's supposed to build tension, it failed. A bit like the nuke story, when they retold it, they could have shown more nukes going off and whatever but they didn't. What have you seen of the nukes and EMP weapons? About 5 seconds of footage.

It depends. It could work out the way you describe, or it could make the towns people of New Burn even more upset that the Jericho aggressors assassinated their leaders, and they might feel compelled to take more action.

Agreed, its pretty soft overall but not bad for a CBS show! Got some good action this week when they brought out the tank and made New Burn's advance team retreat. I was sympathetic to Johnston before, but he was daydreaming the previous week letting the hostage driver escape, and how he managed to get shot behind a tank? Gotta love Jake's response "NUTS!"

Despite being the worst actor ever, Hawkins had a solid track record until he let Vicente or whoever the mastermind/president trace his connection. Now the federal army's first priority is to raze Jericho, New Burn doesn't seem so adversary. Whatever happens in the season finale, I hope Hawkins gets to use his nuke sometime in the future.

 I was wondering if anyone else thought he was a bad actor.... did you see that scene a few weeks ago when he was talking to his boy?

Hawkins in a loud growly voice with a mean look on his face - "IM NOT MAD AT YOU SON"

He seems to be getting a bit better as the weeks go on, this must be one of his first gigs.

The other ridiculous thing was how they waited for the enemy soldiers to get into position before shooting them. They are what, 100 yards down the road? You have rifles with scopes and military rifles which can easily do 500 yards.... and why not also hide behind a car body which isnt filled with sand or anything and has a gap underneath it. Yeah, not even .223 could go through that....

I think Lorenzo could put up a better fight than half these jericho guys.

Am I the only one who thinks the show is just getting better and better with every episode?

I was jumping up and down on my couch when they brought the tank out. Why can't they just run over the New Berners? It's not like they have anything to take out the tank with. Just run over the bastards and pick up their supplies when the dust settles.

The show is so ridiculous, it's great.

The last episode looked like a hillbilly fight! they lined up in front of each other and start shooting! I was expecting to watch some superior tactical manouvering! Quite dissapointing...
By the way, when i first saw the "new" flag, i though it was NEOPO's :)

The Ten Rules of Jericho Military Tactics:

1. Cars stop rifle rounds, 100%. Tanks 0%.
2. When defending in hilly terrain, cluster all your men tightly in the bottom of a valley.
3. When attacking in hilly terrain, stick to the low lying roads. Don't attack from over the ridge of the flanking high ground from either side.
4. Don't hit enemy positions with plentiful mortars before sending in infantry.
5. Politely wait to let the enemy reposition before opening fire.
6. Always let the enemy shoot at you first, especially if you share a common history that involves Western revolver duals.
7. Don’t take breaks in engagement as an opportunity to dig in or reposition men. Use all down time for sentimental purposes.
8. Stop shooting at the enemy as soon as they start to flee. Taking an easy shot is un-sportsman-like.
9. Tank rounds and mortar shells are interchangeable.
10. Tanks should be crewed by one man, sitting on top of the hood. (Glacis) Similarly, they should only be provided one round of ammo, and only the main gun should be used. It should never be used as a bulldozer, not against men, nor trucks, nor railroad tracks.

Oh, I kinda like him actually. Didja know the actor's English? So was the dude who played Lieut. (etc.) Winters in Band of Brothers.
My biggest wish at this point is that they'll somehow work Jake's Grandpa, David Huddleston, the Big Lebowski, into the series somehow. Impossible, you say? What in the Jerichoverse is impossible?

Bet the series winds up with the new Presidente guy melting in a firestorm of splitting nuclei.

Also bet the new flag winds up as a avatar. NEO, sure, maybe Zardoz.

I think you all expect far to much out of CBS and perhaps television dramas in general

The concept of the show, however, would make a great 2 1/2 movie with mindless bloodshed and explosions.

I agree with laughs_last. the "strategy" used by the "experienced" fighters is worse than childish. The writers of this show need to read a book or two. I would be surprised if it was renewed. Especially after the only good actor was killed off.
