Thats provided, of course, that you have weapons. Do you know how to to craft a spear from obsidian? Sure, the Paleolithic ancestors could do it, but can you? The gunpowder will run out, then where will you be? I bought some deadly Pakistani knives for Y2K, with leather carriers.-

Don't get your hopes up too much. When TSHTF, me and my co-workers will take all the good stuff- we know how to get into the cages. I've probably said this before, but sometimes at work I find myself thinking about which animals I'd like to taste. I wonder what elephant tastes like...

I know how to make arrows and have actually split someones arrow half way down the shaft after she nailed the dead center of a target. (probably never be able to do that again in a million years, especailly since we were demonstrating archery for my entire grade 11 gym class).
Having been a prison guard for 8 years, I have a good idea of how to make a number of weapons out of various household type things. Who'd have thought that could come in handy. I also have training, of course, in the use of force and how and where to inflict stunning and deadly blows. I also understand group and power dynamics, have critical incident training and setting up and securing an area. who'da thunk eh?
yet one more example underestimating the value a person can have post peak based on how they look or what they seem to be like. (not that I am accusing you of that!)
