Schadenfreud time! George's horse was favored to win the Kentucky Derby. The long shot (50 to 1) Giacomo won and George's horse finished 7th. :lol: :lol: :lol: And this after Steinbrenner's baseball team The New York Yankees went down in ignominious defeat in the Baseball World Series! I'd hate to be employed by that rich geek.

Speaking of the Kentucky Derby they made a big deal on the news today about one of the gamblers who played the races Saturday. He invested over $18,500.00 to play every single trifecta combination for the race, so he won...$460.00

Rather a Phyrric victory wouldn't you say? It makes the parnoid in me wonder if he was helping the track launder some money or is he really just that dumb?
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Alfred Tennyson', 'W')e are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

I played the lottery nd lost all but once when I won three dollars. Gambling is a fool's gambit unless you are really good or from MIT and counting cards.

Gambling is a great way to make money - IF you're the house.

Have you ever wondered about those football pools you see in some offices? Or those folks down the street with the huge plasma TV that have lots of people over for the various games? Check the numbers - you'll find they are making a goodly sum from the gambling of others.

All quite illegal, of course. So don't do it. 8)
