Improved insulation to reduce HVAC consumption

Unread postby Tanada » Fri 13 May 2005, 06:36:43

We were watching HGTV the other night and they mentioned a product I had never heard of before which should work for people like us.
The product is a paint additive called insuladd @ http://www.insuladd.com/
and is suppossed to work by making the paint on your exterior walls reflective to heat. We bought a great old masonary house which leaves us with no way to insulate and our HVAC bills really show it. However before I invest in this new product I would like to know if anyone here has used it and what were your results?

I have heard of it. It's advertised on HomePower magazine. It seems to be real. Next time I paint a room I'll try it, but I have no experience with it yet.

A simple lightbulb in a box painted with it, and then an identical box without it should show whether its effect is significant.
