Peak oil project

I sorted out the math for hubbert's model now and I did almost the same calculation he did using 1950's oil production data for US. My results was peak in 1972 with anual pruduction of 3.5 gigaberrels. It's quite amazing when you can see for yourself how well the figures match the actual peak year and the actual annual oilproduction that year.
As the results depends entirely on estimates on how much oil there ever was in a certain region or for the entire globe I'm quite amazed he could get so close to the truth.
Anyways this is all for my peak oil project and besides the calculations I'm doing a discussion for and against peak oil. So if you could give me your most convincing arguments of what you believe when it comes to peak oil I'd be very greatful!

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'W')hat goes up, must come down

Or how about

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'F')inite resources diminish when used faster than nature can replensh them.
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Alfred Tennyson', 'W')e are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
