My Avatar is a 1920's style gangster because it looks like a corporate raider (in my mind) which goes along with my name (I like money as much as a Chief Executive Officer). Also the cartoon was drawn from a post apocalypse computer game from the 90s. The ironic part is that I love this game , but I never thought the nuclear wasteland would come true. Now, it seems likely the wasteland is at the least, possible.

The arrogance and foolishness of our so-called "leaders", and the messes they get us into.

Mine is Marvin the paranoid android from Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy. One of Marvin's memorable quotes goes something like.. "I have a brain the size of a planet and they ask me to open the door".. He's seriously depressed and thinks there is no hope for anything so just goes on lamenting about how hopeless everything is. I don't think I've got a brain the size of a planet but I kind of identify with being intelligent and feeling hopeless about humanity at the same time. The other perhaps darker or weirder connection is that I will be 42 in the year 2012 which is about the time I think life is going to start getting really really crapy for most people rich and poor. 42 is the answer to the big question asked of thought the giant computer in HHGTTG.

Well .... I was sick of the hawkgirl I picked when I joined in Aaron's hawkman thing for a lark, and I had just seen "Pirates of the Caribean" and fell in love with the Captain Jack Sparrow character (he's soooo funny and cute), that when I came across his picture, I just had to have it.

Yeah, I know..... its the mentality of a 12 year old school girl. So sue me.
Kind regards, Katkinkate

The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

My first avatar was a picture of myself in "messiah mode" aka full beard, over exposed with a serious stare :)

Then came the upside down U.S. flag which means "S.O.S" or "HELP!".
Then my flag caught on fire at about the same time I became aware of the NEOCON ZIONIST NAZI connections.

Even though Raphael, myself and several others agree that neither the Swastika nor the "Star of David" were new inventions, I, being aware that most people do not know the truth, use it as they use it "fire against fire" to symbolize that this nation as well as many nations are under the influence of both Neocon Nazi types as well as Zionist Nazi types... and if you look closely you will also note the owl from the dollar bill which symbolizes secret societies especially the Bohemian Grove and lastly the "all seeing eye" which represents that all of these "NEFARIOUS" organizations have one main point of leadership that I have yet to understand completely.

Then finally came the Rage against the Machine tour shirt with the skeleton front man and motto "Who laughs last?".
It is easier to enslave a people that wish to remain free then it is to free a people who wish to remain enslaved.

Are you going to reply every other day, Zar? My favorite was the one of Hillary sticking her tongue out.

Here's a larger version of my original avatar:

Porn entrepeneur Jackie Treehorn and thugs, from the movie the Big Lebowski, whose main character is Jeffery Lebowski, aka The Dude. My favorite flick. The thugs switch clothes in the movie!

Current avatar is Powers Boothe from the incredible TV movie Guyana Tragedy, playing Jim Jones. "Hurry, little children..."

I tried uploading this really cool wolf but it was too heavy so I opted for the turtle instead. It's like that old saying about beggars and choosers. Other posters have me beat by miles when it comes to coolness.

As an avid bicyclist, I have to embrace the fact that I will be roadkill some day. I am no leader, I am not lead, I will keep my head down in a crisis. Also, partially a tribute to "Possum Living", putatively by Dolly Freed.

Well there you have it, Me and Napoleon Dynamite. It's all a sham. Democracy sucks, but it's better than the alternatives. That's absolutely right, considering that humanity can't govern itself anyway. It's all been a holding pattern before. . .

The oil soot pic is explained via the link in my signature.

I felt the image was an appropriate symbol of our possible future: it sort of looks like a dead, lifeless planet with holes blown into it. The black and white picture is also appropriate, but that's really just because the image was created by electrons and not photons.
There’s a strange irony related to this subject [oil and gas extraction] that the better you do the job at exploiting this oil and gas, the sooner it is gone.
