Would an exclusiviest group be targetted by the masses?

Unread postby Kylon » Wed 25 Apr 2007, 12:46:45

I have ideas for multiple technologies which would allow my people to survive and live in relative comfort during the coming years ahead.

I want to be exclusive about the use of these technologies in order to promote the well being of my people, but not share it with other groups in order to prevent them from over populating, consuming all the resources, and forcing my group into the original predictament that the other groups would wish to avoid.

So I was wondering, would my group be targetted legally and illegally for surviving and maintaining a cohesive nature?

I'm thinking that if I formed my group and tried to keep our identity as a group secret, then the populace would simply see single individuals doing well, and sometimes groups of people doing well who aren't them, thus not creating an image of a group with power, and thus not infuriating, enraging, and bringing down the wrath of the masses.

What do you think?

An individual who does visibly better than his neighbors (such as staying fed as other are starving) is bound to draw interest toward himself. Supposing that such a situation was possible at all in the long run - what kind of secret "multiple technologies" could bring you food and energy when the trucks are no longer making deliveries to the grocery store and the electric grid is permanently down?

Lucky those who find and become part of their post-PO community before the collapse comes.

You better be fully prepared psychologically and militarily to defend it because there will be people psychologically and militarily prepared to attack it.

And I'm talking about the orchards and gardens too!

It's best to find a location in the middle of nowhere for the technologies. The roving bands won't make it out that far.
