The crash is coming!!!

I can feel it in every bone of my body. Before the next 2 years are up, everything and I mean everything will start crashing down around us all. Every thing is coming to fruition!!!

Can you feel it? I can! The sheep and the rest will feel it shortly after gas hits 4.00 and this is happening this year!!

No more waiting, I for one am officially announcing that peak oil has arrived

World war III will be following shortly after the new cold war. Prepare to see some news heating up in the middle east and in china.

So, should I start buying gold and silver before is become $1,000 and $30 an ounce, respectively?

Edit: Also, see my quote about urban sheeple in the signature.

Yes, it will start within two years. That would be a good bet to make. But it's going to be a progressive unraveling. The system has tremendous internal momentum, and everybody's going to be doing everything they can to keep it going for as long as they can.

It'll be horrible to watch, because we'll know where it's going.

I agree, Australia is having the worst drought since the white man arrived, and if you don't think what happens in AUS can affect us here in the Empire, think again.

The USD is falling and at something like a 26-year low against the British lb.

Real Estate is collapsing in the US, even the mainstream fishwrappers are putting it in those terms.

And we're about to go to war with Iran, who will kick our ass.

I disagree, things will get worse, but at a slower pace. I think collapse will happen in the tens.

There is a harsh period coming, that's fairly clear and certain. I intend to make it. So will my family. Yours can too.

All that needs to be done is to outrun others nearby to avoid getting eaten. Remember, their initial culling will be limited to around one out of two. Look around you as you're walking down the isles of the local supermarket. Who's ready to run when the stores are empty? Who can YOU outrun. In American cities, and I suppose this holds true for all major urban areas, it's fairly simple to get a rough idea who will or won't make the initial cut.

After that, success will be determined by those seriously dedicated to survival.

I'm adding emigration into my contingency planning list.

I can feel it in my bones too but I have a bad feeling about this summer and gasoline shortages. I don't care what anyone says, peak oil is HERE and it is starting to HEAT UP!

There is a general consensus that the suffering will continue to intensify from the bottom up.

There is increasing risk that catasrophic disruption will suddenly occur from the top down.

Those nations already "third world" may actually provide a more stable subsistence level as we proceed through the coming crisis.

The steeper the shock, the less attractive North America looks.

It's a margin call, I know. But it sure looks like the odds are swinging to the negative.

The inflow of news all seems to be trending towards previous "worst case" projections.

If the "trend of the trends" continues, we are in for some serious disruption.

Thus my conclusion that relocation is becoming an increasingly viable option.

Roll the dice, folks. Some of us will come up snake eyes. pLace your bets.

A year or two seems fair; I'm pretty sure the west will generally be in a recession by then...

Exactly. We're not getting any good news at all. The doomer camp is increasing its numbers daily, it seems.

It doesn't bode well, does it? This is the source of the "feeling in our bones" we're starting to get. It isn't our imaginations. It's our intuition.

The cornucopians are absolutely dead wrong. They have it completely backwards. Too many negative factors are at work, and nobody can possibly fashion any sort of accurate model of how they interact and exacerbate each other. My crude, unscientific feeling, however, is that they don't just pile up on each other. It's worse than that. The negative factors don't each add individually to the total ill effects, they multiply them. We're looking at multiplication, folks, not addition.

Hence the "fast forward button" analogy we've been making around here for some time. Things are deteriorating at a bewildering pace that nobody in the past predicted. If my simple-minded theory is correct, that pace can only increase.

Exactly exactly. Positive feedback loops with negative outcomes all feeding off each other and centered around the loss of cheap energy.

AT first (2003) I was motivated to DO SOMETHING by educating people about the peak.

That stage didn't last long. I now only speak about this to people that are already predisposed to listen. And to my classroom, as the youth have to inherit this crap.

I've watched nothing being done. I've watched things only go on as they always have.

I now watch in detachment. I don't have doom in my bones, because peak oil is so huge, so unknowable, that it bypasses all my emotional systems.

I have a frank sense of anxiety sometimes, but about what? Gasoline shortages? Starvation? Die-off? "Undulating Plateaux?"

No, I'm in a state of intellectual shock, I guess. 2007 was the year I feared. Now it's here.

Is that an iceberg I see, or just a wall of fog? If it's a wall of fog, is there something waiting in there for us? We're speeding into that fog. Is there a bend in the road? A cow?

Sometimes it's like being in the passenger seat, unbuckled, with the most dangerous driver I knew growing up. He exceeded the speed limit and passed people under viaducts. He thought near-misses were funny.

"Slow down, Billy."

"What you worried about? I know what I'm doing."

I reach slowly for my seat belt....
