Kristen I wouldn't be surprised to find out if most GP doctors in the last 10 years have turned to pill prostituiton just to offset their malpractice insurance premiums.

Just a theory.
If you give a man a fish you will have kept him from hunger for a day. If you teach a man to fish he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

Psych Drug Pusher/Users, Antidepressants, & School Shooters

(this seems especially relevant after the latest school shooting)

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'T')he so-called "antidepressants" blunt feelings but are actually not very effective in diminishing depression per se. On the other hand, in a small number of cases, they lead to tragic violence.

In this video, psychiatrist Loren Mosher, M.D., former Chief of Schizophrenia Studies at NIMH, journalist Bob Whitaker, author of the acclaimed "Mad in America: The Enduring Mistreatment of the Mentally Ill," and psychologist Dan Kriegman, Ph.D., founder of Zuzu's Place examine the way in which Big Pharma exaggerates the efficacy of their products and hides evidence of their dangers. Evidence is also presented to show that Big Pharma is composed of "true believers," i.e., the psychiatrists and drug execs are not just pushers; they're users!

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'M')y doctor is a quack too. I asked him why Forest pharamacueticals hasn't done any research on these kind of risks and he gave me a chuckle and said "if they told people that, they wouldn't make any money." That pretty much says that these doctors are just there for the money.

you hit the nail on the head there

Well they are better than the BENZODIAZEPINES that doctors used to hand out like candy during the latter part of the 20th century, and then the barbiturates before that.

SSRI's are no where near as bad a previous anti-depression medication, and are not supposed to be abruptly stopped. They are supposed to be tapered, optimally through means like water titration. Obviously though, they are not for everyone and doctors do over-prescribe them. They are extremely easy to get on the street though.

And I honestly do think that marijuana could do wonders as an anti-anxiety/stress med if legalized.

I have some limited experience with SSRI discontinuation syndrome, it's not fun.

But it's the same type of side effect from the discontinuation of any drug.

Stop taking alcohol? Hang Over/Alcohol Withdrawal
Stop taking heroine? Heroine Withdrawal
Stop taking nicotine? Nicotine Withdrawal
Stop taking Zoloft? SSRI discontinuation syndrome

Pick a drug, name a withdrawal syndrome.

It is easier to enslave a people that wish to remain free then it is to free a people who wish to remain enslaved.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'F')eeling anxious or depressed? Take one, go to a mall, come home with lots of stuff you don't remember buying.

Do you really think I'd have purchased a Fall Out Boy Tshirt and a $50 pair of jeans on my own?

It's the ultimate Capitalist drug. Very Happy

Tyler, you're a jerk, plain and simple.

why are you making fun of us who rely on medication?

You think your comments are any more civilized than Rush Limbaugh's comments about Parkinson's?

You're worse than immoral. A poster above says SSRIs supposedly blunt feelings--looks like your feelings are blunted without even taking them.

As for that fucking video....are you shitting me??? Is that guy a catholic priest? You're going to base your judgment of a medication on anecdotal evidence given in a YouTube video???

You people are a real comedy show.

"The vast majority of school shooters take SSRIs." I bet they've all breathed oxygen, too.

And I bet a majority of depressed people take SSRIs.

And I bet a majority of NASCAR fans have drunk alcohol.

And I bet a majority of television watchers have drunk diet soda.

Get a CLUE, will ya?
