If you give a man a fish you will have kept him from hunger for a day. If you teach a man to fish he will sit in a boat and drink beer all day.

I had guessed what it was immediately before I clicked that link. Yup. They're approximately one standard deviation below the mean or so...

What were they trying to breach with such a powerful charge, a concrete bunker or steel wall perhaps?

Also there are way too many guys in that hall. If there was real shooting where would everyone go?

Remember that there is no immutable law that says that bullets must hit a shield at a 90 degree angle.

I think the shield would be okay with one team but with two teams in the the element of manuverability is gone.

Another problem with a second team is that there is a higher possibility of crossfire.

Its a good thing these guys don't have to take on real professionals for a living.

This looks like a few of the things my friends and I did when we were.... 14... Only we weren't stupid enough to get THAT close to the explosives.

It looks like the overpressure went into the ceiling crawlspace through the open hallway in front of the door and blew the troffers + acoustic tiles + mounting hardware down onto the men. That ceiling tile is only a little denser then styrofoam and the hanging brackets are made of the flimsiest of sheetmetal. The stuff has about as much strength as a trailer park in an F5 tornado.

It looks to me like that building was not suitable for that type of training or some administrator ordered some pretty retarded remodeling done. The charge does not seem all that out of the ordinary given the types of doors and fortifications these guys would encounter (think LA crackhouses).

LA crackhouses need to fit suspended ceilings, then.
