Can you pronounce this word correctly?

oxymoron -- It's the one word that drives me up the wall when people miss pronounce it. It's not someone who doesn't know how to wash their face correctly or someone who thinks chocolate gives them acne.

OxyMaroon?
The problem is, of course, that not only is economics bankrupt, but it has always been nothing more than politics in disguise... economics is a form of brain damage.

How do people mispronounce it? Until recently I had been mispronouncing epistemology. Not that I have had an opportunity to use it all that much but I still was emabarassed.

People mispronounce oxymoron?!? Geez, it's a see-it-and-say-it word.

Oh, wait, (recalls Moran graphic). :wink:

Doomer rating +1

The other thing I have a gripe with is people who can't be bothered at least making an effort with spelling. Fine if you make a mistake, we're all human and it happens to the best of us, but at least TRY!

OK, how about synecdoche? People tend to think it's pronounced SIN-ek-dosh but it isn't.

Uh-piss-tuh-moll-o-gee
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Alfred Tennyson', 'W')e are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Almost as bad as saying "pronOUnciation"

Here's another strange fact - did you know the word "gullible" does not appear in the dictionary?
Remember: 73.3% of statistics are made up
and the other 23.6% are wrong
