What other Forum?

Unread postby KhanCEO » Sun 08 Apr 2007, 00:13:44

Lately I've noticed, I only visit a few forums throughout the day. My selection is pretty limited. Normally, I go to LATOC.com forums and here, however I was wondering if anyone knew of any other forums which are better or close to these forums?

I think it is against the rules to ask about other websites with better forums, but I don't really care. I'm sick of only having peakoil.com and LATOC.com for the forums.

Just forums suggestions on anything about politics, oil, economy, etc, or anything you feel is worth noting.

I have not come across any other forums that discuss the breadth of topics that get discussed here. Nevermind peak-oil. Maybe my Google skills suck, and I just can't find the other communities out there.

I am in the same boat. I need some outside action, too. Lol.

In the mean time, the NHL playoffs start next Wednesday, so maybe this might help.

There's a few newsgroups on Yahoo. EnergyResources, RunningOnEmpty2, that sort of thing. Only problem when I was using it years ago was the endless barrage of advertising. Every other time I clicked to view a post, I was informed Yahoo! Groups are an ad-supported service and perhaps I would like to purchase an SUV. No idea what they're up to these days.

I post on my forum, a gaming forum and another nutrition forum but this is the only one specifically about politics, energy and current events.

I occasionally go to a forum where they charge $10 to register and it's huge and covers a large number of discussion topics, but I can't talk about it directly otherwise it might piss somebody off. They don't take kindly to forums like this one.

I lurk and post in other forums as well, KhanCEO mainly forums that are into survivalism and guns. About guns, searching in google for the names of the main brands should bring a lot of options. As a note aside, most of the Guns forums that i have seen, have some sections or threads in which PO is discussed. Judging for what i can see there, there're a lot of people out there that is PO aware and stocking up.

Hi Ludi,
Would you care to shed light here on Ishmael?
Maybe just the basic tenents and such thanks.
It is easier to enslave a people that wish to remain free then it is to free a people who wish to remain enslaved.

The main idea, I think, NEOPO, is that we are as humans part of the web of life, and our fates are entwined with the fate of the world. Our current way of life, civilization, tries to be separate from this web of life, and fails because of that. But there are other ways of life, we have only to find them and try them.

"What I've endeavored to say in all my books is that the flaw in our civilization isn't in the people, it's in the system. It's true that the system has been clanking along for ten thousand years, which is a long time in the time-scale of an individual life, but when viewed in the time-scale of human history, this episode isn't remarkable for its epic length but for its tragic brevity." - Daniel Quinn

Yep. I remember a while ago I was talking to someone there who was an engineer with the government (EPA? I can't remember) telling everyone that methane clathrates were going to be the future, despite the fact that no one has any idea on how to safely get the stuff let alone begun extraction.

Daniel Quinn's books are how I ended up involved and interested with peak oil. Although as of late my contributions have been few. My interest has never waned. *although my wife's sure has*
