Well, it's not a bad thing. Nairobi is already an air transport hub anyways.

We let these leaders rule us..so we're to blame. Get that into your head.

We vote for this system each time we load up at the super, roam the malls, loll arrogantly in our 4x4's as we parade our egos, and bid our soldiers adieu as they make their way to wretched lands of chronic suffering.

I don't believe for a moment it's our leaders...no..its the demented conditioned Pavlovian masses, drooling at the mouths as they do for more of this mess.

I'm not getting what your issue is here. There are numerous of flights a day to Nairobi from Europe. Add another single flight a day between Sydney and Singapore (same distance as LHR-Kenya) and you wouldn't bat an eye. I mean it'd be nice if passengers could then get on a fast train to Kampali or Dar es Salaam, but then again, it'd be nice if passengers could get on a fast train from London to Manchester or Glasgow. Are African passengers less deserving of flights than the millions of unnecessary fliers already?

We're all spoiled and take air travel for granted. We all think of an airplane as being a Greyhound bus in the sky, especially those of us who have flown Southwest. This Nairobi flight will be European businessmen headed down there to make some investments in an emerging market. I highly doubt anyone on that flight is doing it for a vacation in beautiful Kenya.
