Prophetic music video?

Unread postby Bas » Tue 06 Feb 2007, 16:18:09

When this video premiered on MTV back in late 2003 it blew me right of my chair. Only becoming aware of PO six months later, they repetitive featuring of Oil/Gas in this video only started making sense later...

Enjoy and tell me what you think...

Bas, I'm surprised that you didn't really understand how related oil and politics are. I suppose America is where this connection is most obvious, so everyone here pretty much acknowledges and accepts it.

Here's a good peak oil music video. If you hate the song you can just mute it and watch the story unfold.

Radiohead-Just

Is that not the very picture of a doomer?

I love the Pablo Honey album, IMHO Radiohead went only downhill after that, had never seen that video btw; it's very expressionist and I guess you can quite freely interpret what is meant with the video.

About not understanding how related oil and politics (and the militairy-industrial complex) are; I guess I always knew they were related, and accepted it to some extend but I never knew much about the details until the Iraq war started and I started reading about PO a little later. Also, not being American arguably I still know less about the details than the average American poster on this board. Also I'm pretty sure that the average European sees European politicians independent from those interests; they wouldn't accept otherwise. Mixing of different interests is still a big no-no over here and is outlawed to a large extend. Example: corporations are only allowed to give very small contributions to political parties (not more than a couple of thousand Euro's, depending on the country) and I think that's how things are supposed to be. Anyway, let's get back to watching some more "PO"video's....

I like this video too in connection to PO TATU - Not Gonna Get Us

let's call it a Russian perspective on things.

The chorus of Run to the hills by Iron Maiden frequently rings in my head when I spot particularly worrisome aspects of my world.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Aimrehtopyh', 'T')he chorus of Run to the hills by Iron Maiden frequently rings in my head when I spot particularly worrisome aspects of my world.

"We fought him hard we fought him well
out on the plains we gave him hell!
but many came, to much for cree
ah will we ever be set free?

Run to the hills
Run for-or your li-eee-ife!!!" 8)

Why you want to get me all fired up this early?:o

Bas is cool just not as aware and yeah its probably more of a regional thing.
Right now this thread is a challenge to and may ultimately steal away PMS' power base so I recommend arming yourself as PMS is not to be trifled with! :-D

It seems that I put Alizee's "moi...lolita" instead of the intended TATU's "Not gonna get us", the situation has been corrected however.

I am rocking out to Iron Maidens devu album on my ipod now. I liked Paul D'ano better than the next guy. Killers is killer too. I like them they had a more punk sound with D'Ano.
But the first 3 maiden albums were gold. after that ok.
Charlot the harlot.
Im running free.
You have to get Maiden Japan. Live and the songs are way better than the studio versions.
