Nope, 'fraid not. The Plains are firmly encamped in Red State America. I read alot following this post on these places. On one hand, I think with a regression to a less industrialized civilization, these places would be a good place to be, due to their sparsely populated, remote nature. On the other hand how welcoming could a community that prides itself on its strong moral characteristics be accommadating to a gay couple.
Or for that matter, the divergent political, social and economic outlook of the typical PO'er...
I mean, many of us expect some form of economic collapse, some of us go as far as thinking that the push for unceasing growth itself is the problem. That line of thinking isn't going to go over well with the chamber of commerce.
Maybe with an influx of new similar minded residents the isolation would not be too bad
Otherwise I dunno. Land is certainly cheap...
