Ahmadinejad–Bargaining Chips?

What's on your mind?
General interest discussions, not necessarily related to depletion.

Do you think the release of the diplomats arrested by the US in Iraq would be a fair trade for the release of the 15 sailors arrested by Tehran?

Ahmadinejad–Bargaining Chips?

Unread postby ColossalContrarian » Sun 25 Mar 2007, 12:39:20

As someone pointed out in another thread:

Iran arresting soldiers who illegally trespass is an act of war.

The US arresting diplomats who are legally in Iraq is terrorist prevention -or something to that effect.

Could trading the British troops who were arrested in Iran, for the diplomats who were arrested in Iraq be a fair deal?

It is in Iran's best interest to do nothing for a couple weeks; let the speculators send the global economy into a frenzy, destabilize the dollar, etc.

With someone as laid back, easy going and far-sighted as Bush at the helm great things are possible.

BTW, I believe the word you were looking for was deceit.

Just in from Fox

In its 2:30 p.m. news broadcast, state TV said: "Mostafi rejected claims that Iran intends to exchange British Force personnel with the kidnapped Iranian diplomats in Iraq."

Sailors aren't bargaining chips.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('peaker_2005', 'B')TW, I believe the word you were looking for was deceit.

Thanks for the grammar help…
