People don't notice until it's time to fill up the car, or the heating oil tank. It's a problem, but only in a limited way for most people. Wait until they can't buy oil at any price. Then they'll get it. I don't think that's as far-fetched as it sounds. The gas stations don't make all that much off of gas sales. If every oil truck is hijacked, the profit goes out of heating oil. It's already happening. Small stations have quit selling gas. I'd say that most people are not aware of peak oil, but they are intensely aware of the price of oil, and it's effect on them.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('rogerhb', 'Y')ou have to be prepared to think for yourself and most people avoid this like the plague. They have also been conditioned to think that the only thing in life is keeping up with the Joneses. Once they have followed the Joneses into bankruptcy they may start thinking.

This here's one Jones who ain't going bankrupt!
