Eye Opening Graphs

Unread postby Falconoffury » Sat 17 Mar 2007, 00:24:13

I stumbled upon this site in my research.

Shadow Government Statistics

The graphs here really show the manipulation of the numbers by the government. The CPI graph is particularly troubling. The Bureau of Labor Statistics tells us that we have 2% consumer price inflation. SGS tells us that we currently have 10%! That is a huge difference. Thanks to Albert Bartlett's presentation, I know that the doubling time of 10% is 7 years. This is bordering on hyperinflation. Also take a look at the M3 alternate. It shows that money is leaving the USA at ever increasing rates. It's no wonder that China is dumping dollars.

Honestly, based upon all the news articles about which I have been reading, these SGS statistics make absolute sense.

Damn good graphs. I always thought real inflation was around 7.5 percent.

I concur, but that is based only upon my own observations in the market. Prices on items that I use are climbing steadily and substantially more than the 2% figure the government uses.
