I have created a new musical genre...

To add to my excessive amount of non-peak oil related posts, I present my idea for a new musical genre.

It's called generock. Generic + rock - ic = generock, for any simple people.

What is generock?
Generock has no distinctive sound. There is no art in their music. Their fans are fans in general. They aren't punks, hipsters, goths etc.. They don't suck, but they aren't making any significant impact. It's background music.

What are some generock bands?
Nickleback
Matchbox 20
Three Doors Down
Third Eye Blind
Fuel
Creed
Alter-Bridge (Creed minus Stapp)
Goo Goo Dolls

Where is generock commonly heard?
Beer comercials
concerts sponsored by beer companies
The Tonight Show w/ Jay Leno
New Year's Eve bashes held by network TV
Q-101
aircraft carriers

Comments? Any bands you'd like to include?

I have had this theory that one can discern when someone is born (and perhaps under which circumstances that person grew up) based on which music that person finds totally normal, i.e. music that is not noteworthy for that person in any (positive or negative) sense, it's just generic music.
For me for example, it's Gary Numan.

How about a "New and Improved" form of music known as Blugosrap? It would be a combination of Bluegrass, Gosepel, and Rap. That would be some funky shit if it were actually done.
