Amusingly the other night I made a bacon and a butter candle.
They burn a little brighter then wax candles and a comparably long time.


Tallow Candles - Economical and if you get hungry enough you can eat them!

Another thought on animal fat fuel...

What would the price per gallon be if you were to make gasoline from butter?
8 pounds a gallon, (10% water subtracted during processing)
$3.00 per pound
42 gallons in a barrel of oil
.52 convertible to gasoline, lets say .5 for butter.

(3*7)*42*.5=$504
yielding 21 gallons of gasoline
(US$ 504) / 21 = $24 per gallon

Plus refinement costs and energy wasted...
At around $30 per gallon, butter could be seen as an alternative fuel
