OK you guys have got it, great work. Stuff that sounds like hyperbole except it's really happening.

I just finished reading a book by Farley Mowat about his childhood - yeah they were poor, but poor back then still meant they had a car, a house to live in not some single room with all of 'em in there, and a boat. And Dad had time off and the family DID stuff together - the lifestyle you have to be Upper Middle Class to enjoy now.

When someone says:
"Why are you wasting that dog food by letting the dog eat it?"

And you reply:
"I'm trying to fatten him up a bit more."

You shred up newspaper and pour food juices over it and call it dog food.

Mom takes all the kids to the shoe store and each one comes home with new shoes, that remarkedly look like 'shoe boxes.'

Barbers close up shop as everyone cuts their own hair.
