I like Buffalo Springfield -- For what's it worth. (When I am chilling)

Europe - Final Countdown

AC-DC -- Highway to Hell

(The The) Armageddon Days (Are Here Again) Lyrics

They're 5 miles high as the crow flies
leavin' vapour trails against a blood red sky
Movin' in from the East toward the West
with Balaclava helmets over their heads, yes!

But if you think that Jesus Christ is coming
Honey you've got another thing coming
If he ever finds out who's hi-jacked his name
He'll cut out his heart and turn in his grave

Islam is rising
The Christians mobilising
The world is on its elbows and knees
It's forgotten the message and worships the creeds

It's war, she cried, It's war, she cried, this is war
Drop your possessions, all you simple folk
You will fight them on the beaches in your underclothes
You will thank the good lord for raising the union jack
You'll watch the ships sail out of harbour
and the bodies come floating back

If the real Jesus Christ were to stand up today
He'd be gunned down cold by the C.I.A.
Oh, the lights that now burn brightest behind stained glass
Will cast the darkest shadows upon the human heart
But God didn't build himself that throne
God doesn't live in Israel or Rome
God doesn’t belong to the yankee dollar
God doesn't plant the bombs for Hezbollah
God doesn't even go to church
And God won't send us down to Allah to burn
No, God will remind us what we already know
That the human race is about to reap what it's sown

The world is on its elbows and knees
It's forgotten the message and worships the creeds
Armageddon days are here again

Another good one is by the Clash

Straight to hell

If you can play on the fiddle
How's about a British jig and reel?
Speaking King's English in quotation
As railhead towns feel the steel mills rust water froze
In the generation
Clear as winter ice
This is your paradise

There ain't no need for ya
There ain't no need for ya
Go straight to Hell boys
Go straight to Hell boys

Most songs on the Counting Crows "august and everything after" CD are pretty suicidal. A person should really compile a cd and get drunk. SOmetimes when i'm alone i'll start crying :( (not really, but maybe soon)... not gay, although nothing wrong with it.

Duran Duran: Come Undone

Ahh, itll take a little time, might take a little crime to come undone
Now well try to stay blind, to the hope and fear outside,
Hey child, stay wilder than the wind
And blow me in to cry.

'Don't Fear the Reaper' by Blue Oyster Cult has been my favorite song since I was old enough to remember songs, at least 28 years or so. It came out the year I was born, so kinda appropriate... I guess it has an end of the world feel to it...

Also for the younger folks a very good one is 'Aenima' by Tool:

Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will.
I sure could use a vacation from this

Bullshit three ring circus sideshow of
Freaks

Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call LA
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fucking time. Any fucking day.
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona bay.

Fret for your figure and
Fret for your latte and
Fret for your lawsuit and
Fret for your hairpiece and
Fret for your prozac and
Fret for your pilot and
Fret for your contract and
Fret for your car.

It's a
Bullshit three ring circus sideshow of
Freaks

Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call LA
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fucking time. Any fucking day.
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona bay.

Some say a comet will fall from the sky.
Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves.
Followed by faultlines that cannot sit still.
Followed by millions of dumbfounded dipshits.

Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will cuz
I sure could use a vacation from this

Stupid shit, silly shit, stupid shit...

One great big festering neon distraction,
I've a suggestion to keep you all occupied.

Learn to swim.
Learn to swim.
Learn to swim.

Mom is going to fix it all soon,
Mom is coming round to put it back
the way it oughtta be...

Learn to swim.

Fuck L Ron Hubbard and
Fuck all his clones.
Fuck all these gun-toting
Hip gangster wannabes.

Learn to swim.

Fuck retro anything.
Fuck your tattoos.
Fuck all you junkies and
Fuck your short memory.

Learn to swim.

Fuck smiley glad-hands
With hidden agendas.
Fuck these dysfunctional,
Insecure actresses.

Learn to swim.

Cuz I'm praying for rain
And I'm praying for tidal waves
I wanna see the ground give way.
I wanna watch it all go down.
Mom please flush it all away.
I wanna see it go right in and down.
I wanna watch it go right in.
Watch you flush it all away.

Time to bring it down again.
Don't just call me pessimist.
Try and read between the lines.

I can't imagine why you wouldn't
Welcome any change, my friend.

I wanna see it all come down.
suck it down.
flush it down.

Todd Rundgren's Everybody's Going to Heaven-King Kong Reggae
$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')I remember, I remember
What life was like in the yard
cause you cant ever think about dying
And it just makes a person get hard

I keep wondering if my friends feel like I do
I dont know how someone could stand it
To go through what Im now going through

So every night we party
And every night we get too high
And I put myself so close to death
til I think that I aint gonna die

And I realize just a little
Why sometimes I like to feel like dirt
Its the only thing in this day and age
That can make me feel close to the earth

But if I ever get to heaven
If I ever reach that door
I will ask them why I had to go through this life
Why they just couldnt take me before

But everybodys going to heaven
cause already weve all been through hell

Were gonna laugh all night and cry all day
Watch the big monkey do the king kong reggae
A cadillac and a chevrolet
Watch the big monkey do the king kong reggae
The president of the u. s. a.
Watch the big monkey do the king kong reggae
Everybody fall down on your knees and pray
Here comes that big monkey doing the king kong reggae
There’s a strange irony related to this subject [oil and gas extraction] that the better you do the job at exploiting this oil and gas, the sooner it is gone.

I've got you all beat.

White Lion

"When the Children Cry"

I'm listening to it right now...

loaded pistol by my side!!!!!! :) :) and a bottle of Jack.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'D')ry your crying eyes
How can I explain
The fear you feel inside
´cause you were born
Into
this evil world
Where man is killing man
and no one
knows just why

What have we become
Just look
what we have done
All that we destroyed
You must build
again
lawns should be outlawed.

The itsy-bitsy spider went up the water spout,
down came the rain and washed the spider out,
out came the sun and dried up all the rain,
and the itsy-bitsy spider went up the water spout.

Don't you see that it's a metaphor for the fleetingness of wealth, the physical domination by powers outside our control, and the indomitable human spirit? "He who has a why to live can bear almost any how." ~Friedrich Nietzsche. Best of all, it doesn't require electricity.

And don't get me started on how "Ring Around the Rosy" is both pandemic medical advice and concise Stoic philosophy.

LOL I think the itsy bitsy spider is a good analogy for people and the stock market. Except this time the rain is going to last for a long time.
