Libby Trial - a look into the VP's mind

Unread postby shakespear1 » Thu 25 Jan 2007, 12:00:51

Now we get a glimpse of what our VP thinks of others

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'Ted Wells, Mr Libby's lawyer, trumped that by showing on a giant television screen the fragment of a memo written by Mr Cheney after a meeting with his former aide. It offers a voyeuristic insight into his pugnacious, combative character: "Sacrifice the guy that was asked to stick his neck into the meat grinder because of the incompetence of others."')

Here's another look:

Cheney says war critics are 'dead wrong' - Contrasting Bush's tone, he speaks combatively, calling the idea of lost credibility 'hogwash.'

He's basically contradicting Bush now:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', '
')In his annual State of the Union address Tuesday, Bush acknowledged a string of setbacks in Iraq over the last year but urged Congress not to give up.

"This is not the fight we entered in Iraq," Bush conceded. "But it is the fight we are in. Every one of us wishes this war were over and won."

By contrast, Cheney suggested that the administration's critics were "dead wrong" about the war.

"For the first time, we've had elections, and majority rule will prevail there. But the notion that somehow the effort hasn't been worth it, or that we shouldn't go ahead and complete the task, is just dead wrong," he said.

Mister Tough Guy. Mister Non-Combatant Hard Ass. Mister Send Others To Their Deaths While I Sit Here Safe And Sound.

Assholes like him are all alike, aren't they?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Zardoz', 'M')ister Tough Guy.

Pretty easy to be a tough guy when you're surrounded by secret service goons. Personally, I'm not impressed.

Here is a very interesting explanation of why Cheney exposed Plame.

[url=http://cannonfire.blogspot.com/2007/03/why-plamegate.html[/url]

I must say that this explanation makes more sense, rather than implying it was done to embarrass Wilson. By outing her in effect one was immobilizing her from doing what ever she may have been doing, "You're Out Lady" :)

Perhaps, but still too much smoke and too many mirrors to see anything clearly here :-D

Here is a bit more to read and wonder

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'There were a series of unrelated articles including one in Forbes documenting the connections between Cheney, Halliburton and shipment of illegal items into various countries. The information was all there, it's just that few had connected all the dots.

On edit - found the old links:

http://www.forbes.com/global/2004/0419/041_print.html

http://www.afterdowningstreet.org/?q=node/4939')

From here Forum

I like this comment in the Forbes article

$this->bbcode_second_pass_code('', 'No matter how hard the U.S. tries to keep dual-use commodities like gas monitors, software and nuclear triggers out of transshipment hubs like Dubai, stuff gets through. The lure is quick profits. Traders easily pocket 40% markups just by flipping goods, illicit and otherwise. "Business-people [here] are like cats," says Abbas Bolurfrushan, chairman of the Dubai-based Iranian Business Council. "They find their way out of any dilemma." ')

And these guys are going to run US harbors ????
