If you accept what he is saying then I think we should hope that the Peak has already hit and the decline will be swift and rapid..

I read an article somewhere (dont have the link, sorry) where a peak oil scientist said he is not at all worried about global warming. There is not nearly enough oil left. We will be forced to stop using it as a major energy source within 10 years. The Kyoto goals are going to be hit whether we want to or not.

Oil will no longer be economical a LONG time before it runs out. In fact, that was an argument that the Saudis made during Kyoto negotiations. The main fear of the Saudi government is that all that oil they have in reserves will be worthless underground.

Soot worse for global warming than thought

The article above is a good example of why we have to keep an open mind about environmental issues. All I keep hearing is CO2 - global warming. It's become so politicized that people think that reducing CO2 is the only thing that has to be done. CO2 might not be the primary culprit. No one seems concerned with tightening particulate pollution standards (soot.)
