People will go Hungry While Corn Farmers/Speculators get Filthy Rich..

yeah, NPR had a story about that too. Mexico is so screwed. Their market for hot chili peppers is also being swamped by cheaper Chinese peppers. Their oil production is dwindling, the prices are falling. Bad news that just keeps getting worse. The US is going to have some serious trouble ahead with distressed Mexicans trying ever harder to get into the country.

Corn is food, not fuel. Americans don't have to learn that lesson firsthand; we get to watch it in a pre-digested four-minute news article, bookended by adverts for Tide and Lexus.

God help us if we actually manage to turn all of Kansas and Iowa into a giant ethanol plantation.
