Imagine that... people think the world is overpopulated now. At that point we will be adding over 150 million people per year. Without a massive dieoff of epic proportions it will only take us another 30 years to add 5.5 billion people to the earth (give expected population increase and not taking into account humans living longer than they do now; the actual number calculated at 1.4% increase per year would yield greater results) By the time I am 86 years old ... if I live that long, the worlds population will approach 19,000,000,000 people. This is 3 times the current amount of people currently residing on this little rock.


The laws of nature will not allow this. I know we have all talked about the different possible dieoff scenarios, but I think that there are those in our government and above it, that also realize this little factoid. I believe that they will use world war 3 to actually save humanity from itself.

I was born in 1938. At that time there were just a bit over 2 billion people. Now, 69 years later we have tripled our population. I don't have a crystal ball, but it sure looks like the future will be crowded!

I've often speculated that nature will correct the imbalance one way or another, perhaps a pandemic. I'm not sure that would do it either. If you wiped out 99% of the worlds population and only one percent survived, well that's still a lot! I get a bit confused on the decimal places on a number that big because it's so I'll leave it for some one else to figure out.

Don't worry though in experiments with mice kept in a set sized cage but given unlimited food when it got real crowded they eventually all went mad and the mothers kept dead babies in their nests, actually after a while they stopped making nests altogether and the males went homo. The population stayed stable at that point.

This means we can't keep feeding a growing population, and as the population continues its upward trend and more farmland is lost, more people will starve. This of course could be a check in continued growth. I believe though that as a people we have gotten to smart for our own good and will continue to find ways to continue the current growth rate until we suffocate under our own brilliance.
