Disgenics - MBTI - IQ

There is a large body of evidence that supports the fact that there is substantial genetic deterioration in the general population. I believe one of the primary or secondary functions of PO is to 'correct' this in an evolutionary sense.

Here is a series of interesting points on the subject:

http://members.cox.net/sidelock/pages/intelligence.html

In relation to the ongoing discussion on why so many of the POers are INTJ - INTP please note the following regarding Mensans and the MBTI:

From the December 1993 Mensa Bulletin:

Category: E/I S/N T/F J/P

Overall population: 75/25 75/25 55/45 50/50

Mensans: 27/73 10/90 75/25 65/35

These data show that Mensans are most likely to be INTJ (me, for example). 32% of Mensans would be INTJ, while only 1.4% of the overall population would be INTJ. That is a HUGE difference.

Note that the next likely Mensan would be an INTP which is also a VERY small percent of the overall population.

WASHINGTON (AP) - More than 40 percent of Americans take at least one prescription drug and one-in-six takes at least three, the government reported Thursday.

As of 2003, the average household debt in the United States was $17,283. According to the Census Bureau, the average household contains 2.58 persons. This equates to ~$6,698.84 per capita of personal debit The national deficit is currently estimated at $7,528,860,969,255.79, (and growing at the rate of $1.79 billion per day), which equates to about $25,525.67 per capita. According to the US Census Bureau, $22,966 is the average income during the year of 2003. Combined, the total debit per capita is ~$32,224.51. This is 140% greater than the per capita income When a person exceeds their income level with expenses, that person is bankrupt. If a corporation exceeds their income to expense ratio, that corporation is bankrupt. A nation is no different. For an example, look at the collapse of Argentina. That very scenario appears to be more probable every day.

If, (when), the several nations that we have borrowed against demand payment, we will be no better off than Argentina was in early 2001. This added to the devaluation of the US dollar, the incredible housing bubble that has yet to pop, and a fuel supply only increasing in expense, and you have an economy more volatile than nitroglycerin. All indicators are pointing to collapse, it will only take a relatively small event for the largest economy in the world to suffer the largest recession in the world. It appears that the 1929 Great Depression is just around the corner, and this time, it will be worse due to the larger population base, larger debit, and a low value dollar.

The American economy is playing Russian roulette with a semi-automatic pistol, and the trigger is now being squeezed ever so slowly. Are you ready for the fatal shot that will kill "Mr. American Dream"? Peak oil or not, the American economy is about to collapse, and collapse with a very large impact to the rest of the globe. If the saying, "when America sneezes, Australia catches a cold", is true, then what will become of Australia when the bottom of America's economy falls out?

As a member of Densa, I gotta tell you the last thing we need is another million of these guys. Seriously. The further you get up the ladder in IQ score the weirder you are. It almost seems like the smarter you get the clumsier you get. It's like you develop a focus and lose sight of the bigger picture.

It's not a 100% correlation, but it's generally true. If I could surgically remove a couple brain cells and get my iq down to the 100-110 range I'd be a happier cat. 140IQ doesn't help much. I end up being aware of certain depressing trends.... like Peak Oil. Worse, I have very little choice but to sit on the train tracks and wait for the train.

I have three friends who are also very high on the iq scale (all Mensa, one is TOPS as well) and we're all a bunch of freaks. We each have our obsessions and are internally driven to follow them to the end. One seeks money and fame, one seeks intellectual superiority, one seeks alcohol... but we're all broke and not on the right path.

INF/TP (the F/T score is so close to the middle I jump the fence depending on what I'm doing/feeling) :o
