Yet further proof that education is no cure for stupidity.

Of a thousand burning bridges
Sifting through the ashes every day
What we thought would never end
Now is nothing more than a memory

I lost my way" - OCMS

Apparently folding@home (searching for gene therapy or something?) has figured out with ATI how to use the GPU (graphics card) to increase the program's performance by 40x compared to a CPU. I think Seti is announcing the same thing.

Darn:

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'E')ditor's update: for all of you out there who have been waving your arms around and speculating, this is not an announcement about finding a signal from ETs, the face on Mars, or anything else. It is far more mundane. Details of the announcement were released - under press embargo - to reporters last week. A press release about the announcement will be issued on Tuesday by the SETI Institute.
