$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Chocky', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'I') rely on what my common sense tells me and from anecdotal evidence; I am glad that society in my country is gun free...........

You said that before Venky. Which country are you from? I can guarantee you that it's not gun free.

I'm from India. Dont deny that you might have mobsters with guns. But its unlikely that common criminals have them.............

I've never known a gun related incident in 21 years in India; I've known 3 within a year's stay in the US (though no one was injured and only once was a gun discharged); not living in the best of neighbourhoods, just outside an university.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('rogerhb', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('untothislast', 'I') don't think the US citizenry has anything like enough guns.

Why have guns, is it for self defense, or defense against an unjust state?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('untothislast', 'I')'d make it compulsory for everyone over there to be armed to the teeth

So you don't believe in freedom.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('untothislast', 'a')nd then supply free ammunition (say at least 300m rounds) to make sure those guns got used on a regular basis.

Then a socialist solution to ammo redistribution....

I think the above poster was being ironic

The Tamil Tigers are Sri Lankan. Sri Lanka is to India as Cuba is to the US ... more or less ... sort of.

Geographically :-D

Actually, more like how Vietnam is to the US with the Tamil Tigers like the Vietcong; but we got out in far less time.

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('max_power29', 'H')ere's some linkies for all you out there under the impression that american citizens lack the harwdware necessary to resist government tyranny. Keep in mind Iraqis and Afghanis are beating the U.S. military with lesser weapons and IEDs. Also remember that recently Hezbollah spanked Israel.

These weapons are in the back rooms of every gun shop. If you've got the green you can make the scene.

Fook the patriot and miltiary comission acts, fook the FEMA death camps! The gun control crowd are the ones who will end up screwed.

Typical mistake; the US army inspite of its faults is the army of a democracy and subject to codes of conduct that hamper its operations to fight an insurgency.

Dont you think the army of a tyranny will be free of such restrictions.......

Fair enough Venky, India is pretty gun free compared to the United States. Even so, according to IANSA there are still 40 million guns in India, the majority of them illegal.

And the Indian murder rate isn't that much lower than the United States, ~3.2 per 100,000 compared to ~4.2 per 100,000 for America.

I completely disagree with this statement. The reports from freelance and independant journalists, as well as even some in the mainstream media suggest otherwise.

I think you are suffering from a lack of imagination about what our Army COULD do if it were free from such restraints and chose to act in another, more ancient manner.

There would be no insurgency. Mostly because there'd be no Iraqis.

Lets see, after razing cities with white phosphorus, bombing the crap out of them with uranium, mass arrests, and torture, what have we got left: nuking them? I don't think they have enough resources to do a a Nazi type (rounding them up on trains and gassing and burning them) extermination of all muslims.

Yeah, they can always reduce the world to a burnt out cinder... :(

Does that help them print money, hold on to power, or control the resources though?

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('lorenzo', '')$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('Cloud9', 'y')ou Europeans are so smug in your self righteousness

Well, maybe you need some war too before you can become wise. The fact that we Europeans are healthier, less violent, better educated, more intelligent and more prosperous is reason enough to be self-righteous.

But you could also simply learn from us.

The real question is: why are *you* so self-righteous not to be willing to learn from people who have much more experience with everything that life and history has to offer and who are far more successful in the most mundane things (such as organising a healthy, happy and peaceful society)?

Lorenzo, Americans fought your wars!! but of couse you don't
remember!!

If not for American Blood shed across Europe in WWII you today would be screaming SIEG HIEL!!! at the top of your lungs to who ever Hitler's successors would have been. You should be thanking God every day for America!

but, but, but, dead jews aren't a bad thing!

And, America didn't win the war as much as Hitler lost it. Historians today are puzzled by the fact that we won. By all accounts, Hitler should have won, were it not for a few critical mistakes. Had even one of these mistakes not occurred, no amount of American blood would have liberated Europe.

Whole world? No. All buildings within any city offering any resistance in Iraq or Afghanistan Yes, and resources... Absolutely Yes.

But see above, they do happen to be restrained as the Army of a civilized power, and would not be ordered to do such a thing.

Sigh, I wish the world would stop lending the U.S. their money. All the world complains but no one stops lending the government money.

I hope the U.S. is well into hyperinflation and has blown its entire wad on foreign wars before the military/federal agents/police turn on its own citizens en masse.

god help us all

also, if the military did this to the United States, how much longer could it sustain istelf? Where would the military get food and tax dollars, and fuel if it was busy exterminating its constituents?. will other countries give the U.S military money and food to do this? Would other countries keep lending to the united states knowing that the people paying the interest on the loans are being exterminated? I don't think so.

I don't think martial law in the United States would be that different from martial law in Iraq or Afghanistan. If wiping everyone out (shelling every building) would work they would have done it already. They don't give a rats ass about being civilized or constrained. All they do is show trials of very low ranking semi-retarded soldiers

Also there just isnt enough ammo to shoot every last muslim. The same reason why Hitler had to do the death camps with the poison gas.

Guys, it is only paper. Check out the history of British built railroads in the U.S. After the Civil War, J.P. Morgan bought those properties for pennies on the dollar.
