While liberal Jewish activists have worked successfully to punish and silence politically incorrect speech in much of Europe, America maintains a fragile freedom. The Anti-Defamation League, architect of Orwellian “anti-hate” laws, is frustrated about it.
This was apparent in the Sept. 12 speech given by Christopher Wolf, chair of both the ADL Internet Task Force and the International Network Against Cyber Hate. He spoke at the 3rd International Symposium on Hate on the Internet sponsored by B'nai Brith, ADL’s parent organization.
In his speech, Wolf sourly admitted the difficulty in corralling thought criminals on the web, especially since America provides a “legal haven” for that hatred.

dude you jest, but I think that's what a few groups want. The Internet is literally becoming the only way for people to find out what really going on and to hear disenting oppinions. This is going to become our life line.

nothing is free.
The purpose or goal of this forum IMHO is to educate and spread the knowledge of peak oil and its many related issues and ramifications.
Yes it is good to attempt to appear impartial or unbias yet the title is PO.COM so you can expect to find people who understand or who are trying to understand peak oil.
The PO position is one of dissention because the message being fed to the masses is not the one being promoted here.
This is dissention.
Those who come here trying to bring the message down are trying to stifle real dissention.
They want to dilute, debase, side track or otherwise slow the momentum of this message/movement.
To some degree yes it is good to have dissenting opinions to make for a lively debate yet imagine if 500 biofuel loving cornucopians walked through the forum door today and started a campaign similar to lorenzo's.
Most of the people with any sense would just go somewhere else as we would be greatly outnumbered and easily overwhelmed by the bullshit.
Its a shame that some of us cant post jackshit here without the ones who disagree with us flaming away. no debate just flames.
