Starbucks: We ain't seen nothin' yet...

How much over-priced coffee can we drink? Starbucks thinks it's way more than we're gulping down now:

Starbucks to double North American stores - No timeline given for plan to eventually have 40,000 outlets worldwide

Any Starbucks addicts out there? How much do you spend at Starbucks in an average month?

I have a Starbucks Visa card, which I use exclusively for my business purchases because it gives me Starbucks credits for each purchase I make using their card. My wife probably gets a large latte(sp?) four to five times a week and the credits accumulated have covered every purchase for over a year.

I stopped drinking Starbucks coffee a few months ago and will never go back. Starbucks is a member of the evil corporations that pwn the citizenry of this country. I drop my federal reserve debt based notes at independent coffee shops where I buy my 16oz Carmel Latte.

No,
I like Carribou Coffee better - from their beans to roast at home or to buy from the store, but I do buy Starbucks double shot espressos and frappuccino's from the store occasionally to bring to school in the morning. Coincidentally, I'm drinking a frappuccino right now

I've tried the stuff; frankly, I didn't care for it.

Good American roast coffee, drip brewed - that's way better. 8)

$this->bbcode_second_pass_quote('', 'H')oward Shultz, the chairman of Starbucks is an active Zionist.

In 1998 he was honoured by the Jerusalem Fund of Aish HaTorah with "The Israel 50th Anniversary Friend of Zion Tribute Award" for his services to the zionist state in "playing a key role in promoting close alliance between the United States and Israel". The Jerusalem Fund of Aish HaTorah funds israeli arms fairs chaired by the butcher of Jenin - General Shaul Mofaz, and the zionist propaganda website honestreporting.com.[1]

His work as a propagandist for Israel has been praised by the Israeli Foreign Ministry as being key to Israel's long-term PR success [2].

Recently whilst the Israeli army was slaughtering Palestinians in Jenin, Nabulus and Bethlehem he made a provocative speech blaming the Palestinians of terrorism, suggesting the intifada was a manifestation of anti- Semitism, and asked people to unite behind Israel [3].

At a time when other businesses were desperately pulling out of Israel, Starbucks decided to help Israel's floundering economy and invest in Israel - a joint venture with Israeli conglomerate Delek Group for Starbucks outlets in Israel ( Shalom Coffee Co).[4][5][6]. A bad business decision - Starbucks made heavy losses and in April 2003 Starbucks were forced to announced that all 6 Starbucks cafes in Israel will be shut down and its partnership with Delek end.[14]

It has been revealed that Starbucks still continues to support Israel by sponsoring fund raisers for Israel.[15]

Who cares. If its not a zionist running starbucks, its someone else running the same coffee shop called something different. Not like starbucks is gunna take over the world. Its a damn company that does business. There selling coffee. Not arms to 15 year old mid east kids. I think you guys are overthinking things and looking for things that arnt there. Protest em all you want, thats just more FREE pub for them. If you dont like them, just ignore them and keep driving your hummer past their stores.

Wih all the real issues facing the world, who the hell cares what starbucks is doing and who runs the company.

The only coffee I'll ever buy is Turkish coffee. I see no reason to spend so much for Starbucks (I'm pretty frugal).

Can you provide details? What and where do I look for Turkish coffee ? I like to try new coffees.

I make the best espresso for me (using cheap steam-driven Krupps), but I actually do like Starbucks beans and drip. Not as good as Misha's in Alexandria though. The downside is the standardization, and something about gulping down a Vente coffee from a cardboard cup doesn't seem too right. Like a super big gulp of coffee.

They do also treat their employees pretty good though- I know several people that work for them. All in all not the most evil of giant corporations IMO.

Dunkin Donuts plans to build 1 store per 16,600 people in the mid-Atlantic states over the next year or two.

It's truly baffling, but if you knew how fast these stores pay themselves off, it's obvious to me it's the next big commercial real estate grab, like gas station properties in the 1980s.

My sister drinks that crap everyday. It says a little bit about starbucks drinkers that she has a high paying job, is single and basically has no expenses, and she's ALWAYS BROKE. She lives paycheck to paycheck like a starving african, because she has bought into consumer culture hook line and sinker. I have never drank a starbucks coffee, just as I have never had a $100 steak, bought a lotto ticket or flown first class. And I have no desire for any of these things, and if I had millions of dollars, I still wouldn't partake in any of these "luxuries"....I'd do something much cooler with my money....like pay dumb people to get sterilized.

My daughter loves all things Starbuck.Oddly, now that she is going to college virtually on her own dime, she is content to drink the tasty beverage I brew in my old- school stovetop percolator.Every morning I dump my brand x coffee into the basket/strainer thing add some water heat to slow perking boil and get my caffeine fix thusly. She has a metal Starbuck's badged travel mug .In this way she camaflouges(sp?) her commoner's coffee from her fellow students who are then none the wiser of her peasant origins.
